A. is an urban comprehensive university and one of twenty-three campuses in the CSU system. The Department of Liberal Studies has over 400 undergraduate majors pursuing options in Interdisciplinary Studies of Culture and Society and Elementary Teacher Preparation. Liberal Studies also has a popular minor in Women's and Gender Studies and several popular general education courses. The chair manages the budget and allocates all departmental resources.
