January-March 2020 Mission Statement-Sunshine Foundation’s sole purpose is to answer the dreams of chronically ill, seriously ill, physically challenged and abused children ages three to eighteen, whose families cannot fulfill their requests due to financial strain that the child’s illness may cause. Neveah’s Dream Came True! The generous staff at Glory Days Grill shared the news with Nevaeh, 10 from Beltsville, MD who has Spina Bifida, that she and her family were going to Walt Disney World. Neveah had tears of joy to learn she would fly with her family to Florida and stay at Sunshine Foundation Dream Village. Thank you to Glory Days Grill for sponsoring Nevaeh's Dream and to our Sunshine Foundation All-Volunteer Chapter Miss Sunshine Foundation Charity Pageant Queens for helping to welcome Nevaeh and her family. The generosity from Glory Days Grill makes it possible for Sunshine Foundation to make Neveah and other children’s Dreams Come True! Central Michigan University students gave up their typical spring break to do an alternative spring break by volunteering at the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village. They worked hard on repainting our entrance wall and were able to work on getting a tan while they were at it. Thank you so much for all of your hard work and for trading your spring break to volunteer with us! Jacob, 8, from Ocala FL diagnosed with Smith-Magenis Syndrome, Enjoyed his trip to the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village, and was able to visit the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Davenport School of The Arts joined us at the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village to assist in taking down all of our Christmas decorations. Thank you so much for all of your help and for allowing us to share our mission with more people in the community. Tiffany, 10, diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis, and her family, had an amazing time on their recent trip to the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village in Florida. Bryauna, 19, from Spring Hill, FL diagnosed with Charge Syndrome, was delighted to be staying at the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village for her Dream Come True. She really enjoyed staying in the Dream Village Enchanted Forest Cottage. She visited all the Florida theme parks while on her trip here with her family. Thank you to the Richard M. "One of Brianna’s favorite attractions was the Avatar ride! She said, ‘Mom, I fly!!’ So proud of Brianna’s efforts to step outside her comfort zone. She doesn’t like loud noises, but she took them on so she could experience the rides and other events. Day 2 was the hardest day for her with painful joints, but again she chose to press on. She didn’t want to miss Logan, 12, diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, just finished his anything. What great memories she’ll always have." Cynthia- dream come true through the Sunshine Foundation. Mom. This was an opportunity that we could never have dreamed of doing on our own. I think that we may not see the full effect for years to come. I am sure it will be a part of his positive memories."
