Meghalaya or ‘abode of the clouds’ is a source of inspiration to many poets, a dramatic canvas for an artist's dream, and an ideal retreat for people in search of beauty and solitude. Meghalaya is one of the most picturesque states of , offering rich cultural heritage and lush vegetation and has the thickest primary forests. Meghalaya has a number of valleys, highland plateaus and lush green hills and is speckled with big waterfalls. Meghalaya has abundant rainfall and sunshine around the year and is considered to be one of the richest botanical habitats in Asia. Often this state is compared to Scotland for its highlands, fog and scenery. The state shares an international border with and also borders . Meghalaya also offers many adventure tourism opportunities in the form of mountaineering, rock climbing, trekking and hiking, caving (spelunking) and water sports. Thus, Meghalaya constitutes as one of the most important ecotourism circuits in India.

Day 1:-Shillong (D) : We land in Guwahati in the afternoon and start our drive to Shillong. After lunch we continue our drive to visit Kamakhya Temple. If time permits, we will stop at Archery Field to see the Tear Play. On our way we will visit Umiam Lake, a majestic placid lake which is surrounded by the Sylvan Hills. Later proceed to Shillong for dinner & stay the night in hotel.

Day 2: Shillong-Cherrapunji (B+D) : After breakfast we leave for Cherrapunji (also known as Sohra). On the way we can stop for some adventure sports like zip-Lining etc (at your own cost) and visit the beautiful waterfall – Mawsmai Cave, Mawsmai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, and Nohkalikai Falls. The city’s average rainfall is about 12,000 mm a year and the record for a single day was 2455 mm recorded in 1974 confirming it as the “Wettest place on Earth”. Later we check-in at our hotel have the evening free for leisure. Stay the night at hotel in Cherrapunji.

Day 3: The Raniniest Place on Planet Earth-Cherrapunji (B+D): After breakfast, we begin to trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. It usually takes two hours to complete the trek. The route is replete with a small village where one can relax and explore the rural life. This amazing bridge is a Two-Tier Living Root Bridge made of the roots of a living , connecting a chasm with a pool of jade water below. The two tiers measure 59ft and 83ft. in length respectively. The trek to this double decker is tough but worth giving a try. Head back to the hotel to stay the night at Cherrapunji.

Day 4: Cherrapunji--Mwallynong-Shillong (B+D) : Doing an early morning breakfast, on our way from Cherrapunji to Dawki .We stop to see Bangladesh plains and do boating over Umngot River– crystal clear river, this river is at Indo-Bangladesh Border. Here you can also do various adventure activities like Zip Linining,Kayaking,Swimming,Snorkelling etc After lunch drive from Dawki to Mwallynong village. The Village offers picturesque natural beauty, a sight of natural , a strange natural phenomenon of boulder balancing on another rock. We then return to Shillong by the evening to explore the Police Bazar market at your own. Overnight in hotel.

Day 5: Shillong-Kaziranga (B+D) : After breakfast, we leave for Kaziranga. We drive around 7 hrs. On our arrival, we visit which is the home of the Great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros. The landscape of Kaziranga is of sheer forest, tall elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshes and shallow pools. Kaziranga also has a good number of Tigers and is home to large breeding population of Elephants, and Swamp Deer. Later we reach our hotel for dinner & stay

Day 6: World’s Heritage Sight Kaziranga (B+L+D): Starting the morning early we explore Eastern Zone (Bagori) of Kaziranga National Park on Jeep (optional). Apart from the Rhino, other species found are hog deer, Swamp deer, wild buffalo, elephant and occasionally tigers. It is also home to the pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the park. Later we come back to the hotel. In the noon, we depart for another Jeep Safari through the Central Zone (Kohora) of the Kaziranga National Park (optional). Have dinner and stay in hotel at Kaziranga.

Day 7: Day for homeward journey (B) : Early morning, explore Western Zone of Kaziranga National Park on elephant Safari (optional). Succeeding breakfast, we depart for Guwahati and if time permits we will visit State Museum and do some shopping, later transfer to the airport on time for our flight.
