Riley Svatos Soporano age 26

Riley Svatos made her mainstage debut with Florida Grand in the fall of 2013 as Helen Niles in Marvin David Levy’s “Mourning Becomes Electra”, where she was praised by as “promising,” and by the South Florida Classical Review for her “tension-free lyricism” in her portrayal of the innocent character. There she also sang Estelle in Andy Vores’ “No Exit,” where she was again praised by the South Florida Classical Review for her “florid high soprano and flirty charm.” Ms. Svatos completed her studies in 2013 for the Master of Music Program at Indiana University, where she studied with Costanza Cuccaro. In 2012 she was the grand-prize winner of the Franco- American Vocal Academy Grand Concours de Chant, was awarded the Winston Scholarship from the National Society of Arts and Letters, and won an Encouragement Award in the National Council auditions. In spring 2015 she competed as a finalist for the Houston Grand Opera studio. She has performed Donna Anna in Mozart’s “” and Daughter in ’ “Akhnaten” on the Indiana University stage, and as Countess Almaviva in Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” for Arbor Opera Theater. Most recently Ms. Svatos performed the title role in Rimsky- Korsakov’s “The Golden Cockerel” and Thibault in Verdi’s “Don Carlos” with Sarasota Opera. She has shared the stage with singers Lauren Flanigan, Keith Phares, Eglise Gutierrez, Mary Phillips, Jon Burton, Michelle Johnson, and has studied with many reputable performers and instructors, including Kevin Murphy, Arthur Fagen, Carol Vaness, Diana Soviero, Erich Parce, Kara Shay Thomson, and Kevin Short. information from: http://www.sourcesongfestival.org/riley-svatos/
