news release 720.326.7311 Light rail wire replacement will affect service for RTD’s H and R lines this weekend Bus shuttles will be offered between affected stations DENVER (Oct. 4, 2019) – Light rail service on the Regional Transportation District's (RTD) H and R lines between Nine Mile Station and Southmoor Station and between Nine Mile Station and Belleview Station will be affected beginning Sunday, Oct. 6, at 3 a.m. thru Monday, Oct. 7, at 3 a.m. due to replacement of the Overhead Catenary System (OCS) wire. In order to continue providing optimal service to our patrons, crews will be replacing existing wire along portions of the H and R lines. The OCS wires deliver power to the light rail vehicles through the pantograph that extends upward from the light rail vehicles and makes contact with the OCS wire. Train riders should plan for additional travel time between affected stations. Wire replacement will affect service as follows: Sunday, Oct. 6 from 3 a.m. through Monday, Oct. 7, at 3 a.m. Lines impacted: H and R Affected stations and bus shuttle boarding locations: • Southmoor Station – Board at Gate A • Belleview Station – Board at Gate A • Dayton Station - Board next to platform • Nine Mile Station - Board at Gate F On Sunday, Oct. 6, the H Line will terminate at Theatre District - Convention Center Station due to the Allstate Hot Chocolate 15K/5K Note: Rail returns to regular service Monday, Oct. 7. NEWS RELEASE RTD to perform early Saturday track repair on light rail bridge over Cherry Creek Downtown service for D and H lines will divert to Union Station; L Line alternate is bus Route 43 DENVER (Aug. 31, 2021) — The Regional Transportation District (RTD) will perform necessary maintenance that will impact D, H and L light rail service between the Colfax at Auraria and 30th•Downing stations on Saturday morning. Light rail customers attending the Taste of Colorado and Meet in the Street events on the 16th Street Mall will not be affected by the maintenance work. Crews will repair and replace concrete track supports on the rail bridge crossing Cherry Creek, located at Speer Boulevard and Stout Street. Overnight work on the rail bridge will begin at 12:01 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 4. Repairs will be completed, and regular service will resume beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday. While maintenance on the track is underway, D and H Line trains will not operate on their regular routes. The trains will not serve the Theatre District•Convention Center through the downtown loop. Trains will be rerouted north of Colfax at Auraria Station to provide service to and from Union Station, making stops at Empower Field at Mile High and Ball Arena•Elitch Gardens stations. There will be no L Line service while the maintenance work is taking place. L Line customers can use RTD bus Route 43 as an alternate option. From the Colfax at Auraria Station on Friday, the last northbound train will depart at 11:09 p.m., and the last southbound train will depart at 11:27 p.m.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Media Contact Pauletta Tonilas FasTracks Public Information Manager 303.299.2469 (office) 303.250.4846 (mobile) [email protected] Yale Avenue Bridge Opens Ahead of Schedule Bridge Rebuilt for Expansion of the I-225 Light Rail and Highway DENVER, October 5, 2012—The Regional Transportation District (RTD), Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and SEMA Construction today celebrated the reopening of the Yale Avenue Bridge over I-225 two months early. The bridge was rebuilt to make room for the expansion of the I-225 Light Rail and the widening of the highway. Nearly 200 people attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony and participated in the community walk across the bridge. The bridge is now open to traffic. The Yale Avenue Bridge was estimated to be closed for six months during reconstruction, but crews worked to get it finished earlier. “This is a great milestone for FasTracks and we appreciate our partnership with CDOT in bringing this project in ahead of schedule,” said Tom Tobiassen, RTD Board Director. “This is a major step in our progress to completing the entire I-225 Rail Line.” SEMA is building the I-225 light rail segment from Nine Mile to Iliff. The remainder of the project from Iliff to Peoria/Smith Station will be constructed by Kiewit Infrastructure Co. This summer, the RTD Board of Directors formally approved Kiewit’s proposal to complete the I-225 Light Rail Line to Peoria by November 2015. The line would open in mid-2016 after about six months of testing. The I-225 Rail Line project is part of RTD’s FasTracks program.
