1042 N. Vista Street #8, West Hollywood, CA 90046 • 323.845.9781 [email protected] Chris Isaacson Presents in association with The VFC Project has announced #Hash(tag) America at Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood on Monday, November 18, at 8:30pm. #Hash(tag) America is a new theatrical musical, an urgent urban rock concert, and a soul stirring personal testimonial all rolled into one powerful explosion of sound, youth, diversity and truth. Set against original musical collaborations by Anthony Fedorov and other artists, this inspirational new musical explores true stories of social justice, gender identity, race, immigration, and economic inequalities within the fabric of the American experience. #Hash(tag) America began as a concept album entitled Calling On You (co-produced by Anthony Fedorov and Grammy Award-winner Jeeve Ducornet) from a successfully funded 2016 Kickstarter campaign. Los Angeles will be treated to a concert version of the show first performed to a rousing audience and critical response at New York’s The Green Room 42. — MORE— AT CATALINA JAZZ CLUB IN HOLLYWOOD [Page 2] Joining Fedorov (American Idol, Rent), Isa Briones (Star Trek: Picard, Hamilton), and Eden Espinosa (Falsettos, Wicked, Rent) will be Kyle Carter (The Lion King, In the Heights), Christina Sajous (SpongeBob SquarePants, Spiderman, American Idiot), and Heath Saunders (Alice By Heart, Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert on FOX). Said Fedorov, “In the wake of our current political climate and as an immigrant myself, I felt like I had to do something. I started writing songs about racism, gun violence, and discrimination, and creating a show that will hopefully bring people together in these difficult times.

We perform publicly for the entertainment, ed- ucation and cultural enrichment of our audiences and community. We sing to enhance the esteem of all women, to celebrate diversity, to promote peace and freedom, and to touch people’s hearts and lives. Our Story In 1996 Silicon Valley Gay Men’s Chorus (SVGMC) returned from the GALA (Gay And Lesbian Association) choral festival in Tampa so inspired that they wanted to host a GALA Festival here in San Jose. However, GALA required that both men and women needed representation. So Len Chandler, singer with SVGMC, asked Lynne McLaughlin, former music director of the men’s chorus, if she would be interested in starting a “Sister Choir” for them. In agreeing to do so, Lynne became the music director of what the original singing members voted to name Rainbow Women’s Chorus. Our logo was designed by Lynne’s son, Tom McDonald.

  • ANN HAMPTON CALLAWAY - Biography
ANN HAMPTON CALLAWAY - Biography ANN HAMPTON CALLAWAY is one of the finest singer/songwriters of our generation. The statuesque performer dazzles music lovers as a singer, pianist, composer, lyricist, arranger, actress, and educator. Her talents have made her equally at home in jazz and pop as well as on stage, in the recording studio, on TV and in film. She is best known for starring in the hit Broadway musical "SWING!" and for writing and singing the theme to the internationally successful TV series,” THE NANNY". Ann is a devoted keeper-of-the-flame of the great American songbook. She brings fresh and original interpretations to these timeless classics and works to uphold the canon by writing songs with Cole Porter, Carole King, Barbara Carroll and others. Her spontaneity, intelligence, and soulful charisma have won her a diverse fan-base including notables as Barbra Streisand, Clive Davis, Carly Simon and Wynton Marsalis. The New York Times writes, “For sheer vocal beauty, no contemporary singer matches Ms. Callaway.” Ann attributes her voice and love of music to her mother, Shirley, who throughout her childhood sang and played torch songs, Gershwin and German lieder at the piano. Of the uniquely musical household she says, “I didn’t know it at the time, but we were sort of the Von Trapp family of Chicago.” After a music teacher discovered her unusually mature soprano voice, Ann was encouraged to study classically, honing the pitch-perfect control and expressive three octave range she is known for. While her voice teachers suggested she could have a career in opera, Ann eventually realized that she would be happier singing the music she most loved.
