Consignment Packet
41 South Main Street PO Box 1219 Hardwick, Vermont 05843 802-472-5533 – [email protected] Consignment Program The Galaxy Bookshop is proud to support local authors, and our consignment program for local self- published and independent authors enables us to extend our support beyond what is available to us through traditional publishing. Below are our terms and some important things to keep in mind about our consignment program. If these terms are acceptable, you will find our Consignment Sales Agreement [attached/below], to be filled out and left on file for each title you will be consigning with us. 1. We are committed to supporting local authors and our local community. Books from outside our community will not be accepted if we feel we cannot sell them successfully. You must receive confirmation from us that we will carry your book before shipping your books to us. 2. Stocking consignment items creates extra labor for our booksellers: setting up paper records, tracking sales, and managing inventory must be done individually and by hand. We collect a non-refundable stocking fee of $20 for each unique title consigned. 3. Our pricing terms follow the book industry standard of 60/40, where 60% of the retail price (set by the author) for each book sold is payable to the consignor and 40% is kept by The Galaxy Bookshop. 4. We pay bi-annually for consignment sales. Payments for sales are usually mailed by the end of January and July. 5. We prefer to stock no more than three copies of a consigned title. -

State of the Media: Audio Today a Focus on Public Radio December 2014
STATE OF THE MEDIA: AUDIO TODAY A FOCUS ON PUBLIC RADIO DECEMBER 2014 STATE OF THE MEDIA: AUDIO TODAY Q4 Copyright © 2014 The Nielsen Company 1 THE ECLECTIC AUDIO LANDSCAPE In today’s fragmented media world, where consumers have more choices and more access to content than ever before, audio remains strong. 91.3% of all Americans (age 12+) are using radio during the week. Since the beginning of 2010, the national weekly radio audience has grown from 239.7 million to 243 million listeners tuning in across more than 250 local markets in every corner of the country. 243 MILLION AMERICANS LISTEN TO RADIO EACH WEEK In a time of changing habits and new digital platforms, radio’s consistent audience numbers are quite remarkable. With the holidays just around the corner, consumers will be turning to the radio to catch their favorite sounds of the season or stay in touch with what’s happening in their local community each day. PUBLIC RADIO OFFERS AN UNCOMMON MIX OF PROGRAMMING FOR 32 MILLION LISTENERS This year we have profiled the overall radio landscape, multicultural audiences and network radio listeners, and for our final report we turn our attention to Public Radio; the more than 900 rated stations which offer an eclectic mix of news, entertainment, music and cultural programming in markets large and small. Public Radio is a unique and relevant part of the lives of 32 million Americans and exists in large part due to the financial support of the listeners we examine in the following pages. Box 336, Hardwick, VT 05843 Phone: 802-472-6020 Fax: 802-472-5946 E-Mail: [email protected] www.Buffalomountaincoop.org Co-op Hours Monday - Friday; 9am to 7pm Saturday; 9am to 6pm and Sunday; 10 to 4 Tales From the Barnyard; or, Paradise Regained - by Olive I have a friend that promises me that forever could mean paradise on earth; all it takes is signing up with her organization. What a tempting idea - endless summer days, fruit just hanging off the trees for the taking, no more bugs, and there you are, set for eternity. ( I do wonder, however, what will the birds and the bats eat?) But all that comes some unspecified time in the future, so without stepping on anyone's ideological toes, what about exploring paradise in the here and now? When my first Early Girl tomato turned red, I made a sandwich with garlic, cheese, tamari and mayonnaise and ate it at my favorite lake after a long swim. Omar Khayyam's poem about the loaf of bread and the jug of wine floated past my thoughts; yes, this was paradise enough right now. The harvest has begun, the farmers' markets are bulging, and on sunny days it's still warm enough to swim. I would love to hear from the Bullsheet readers about their moments of perfection. Stop me on the sidewalk and share them with me if you have a minute or two. This time of year is so precious that I will sign off early and go catch a little more daylight while I can. -
