EXPERT LECTURE ON EXPERT LECTURE GIS ADVANCE CONCRETE Technology and DESIGN Entrepreneurship in

MR. JIGNESH BHAVSAR (DIRECTOR, On 19th November 2018, a guest lecture BY:- MR. TECHCON SERVICES) On 29th August 2018 gave SATYAM DAVE (ANALYTIC SOLUTION) on the lecture on recent advancements in the field of “GIS Technology and Career Prospective “ was concrete technology. He gave an insight of the organized by Mr.. Akshay Jain for second and third advanced materials being used in the industry to year (B.Tech Civil) at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum improve the strength as well as durability of the University. Mr. Satyam Dave, a GIS expert at Concrete structures. The lecture started by the analytical solution shared his insights about the field description of the ancient structures and the of GIS and his experience in his past 12 years. materials, how durable were the structures. The session was quite interactive and witnessed a Different types of concrete and admixtures were foot fall of 70+ pupils from second and third year listed, and their importance was discussed with the civil engineering students. It was indeed a privilege students. Further he discussed about high strength to have Mr. Satyam Dave as a guest speaker for this concrete used in the industry. For example; High particular session. His insights have definitely Strength Concrete (Upto M-80 grade) Ultra High inspired quite a few young minds to purse GIS as a Strength Concrete (Upto M- 200 grade) and career. Reactive series Concrete (From M-200 to M-800 grade) prepared in standard laboratory conditions. Topics like Light Weight Concrete were discussed with the students to give them the insight of the working of today’s industry. He brought the physical samples of the three different fibers (For instance Steel Fibers) for the students and how by the inculcation of this fibers, M-200 grade of concrete can be achieved was discussed with the students. Effects of hot and cold weather were discussed by him. The different types of fibers were listed and how their inculcation into the concrete can drastically affect the strength as well as the durability of the concrete was discussed. The Session included Introduction to the analytical solution, followed by the meaning of GIS and its various applications in the different fields of engineering and how it helps to easy in data collection. What are the career prospective of GIS And what is industry for GIS work force. The GIS has developed a lot in last decade and it’s important

to have hands on experience. CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT NEWSLETTER

UNDER CONSTRUCTION PDPU “F” BLOCK VISIT During the whole semester, F block construction site visits were organized for the Civil Engineering Students.
