ISAN ITALIA Encoding ISAN ITALIA Encoding ISAN (International Standard Audiovisual Number) is an ISO standard numbering system which enables the identification, management and cataloguing of film and audiovisual works through a unique, internationally recognized and permanent reference number. Italian agency ISAN ITALIA SRL ‒ a result of the synergy between ANICA Servizi SRL (Associazione Nazionale delle Industrie Cinematografiche Audiovisive e Multimediali ‒ National Association of Cinematographic, Audiovisual and Multimedia Industries) and APT Servizi SRL (Associazione Produttori Televisivi ‒ Association of Television Producers), with the collaboration of SIAE (Società Italiana degli Autori ed Editori ‒ Italian Society of Authors and Publishers) ‒ was established with the aim of implementing the ISAN system in Italy. The ISAN Italia agency is delighted to announce the support of the FILM COMMISSION Foundation of ROME, the PROVINCES and LAZIO in the promotion of ISAN system registration for all film and audiovisual content produced within the Lazio region, with an invitation to productions operating at regional level to register their work titles with the ISAN system. Each work title registered on the system (ISAN) costs 12 euros, followed by 6 euros for each subsequent version or secondary distribution format of the same work (V‐ISAN). The FILM COMMISSION Foundation of ROME, the PROVINCES and LAZIO, was founded in February 2007, brought about by Lazio Region, Municipality of Rome, Province of Rome, Province of Frosinone, Province of Rieti and Province of Viterbo with its goal to “ encourage national and foreign companies in the film and audiovisual sector to invest and produce in the Rome region, to jointly promote the image of Rome and Lazio,...to increase awareness of its natural and cultural heritage and tourism, and to foster greater competitiveness in the region...” (Founding statement of the Rome and Lazio Film Commission). Thanks to the invaluable support provided by the Film Commission Foundation of Rome, the Provinces and Lazio in encouraging producers to introduce ISAN codes, even the specific content produced in the Lazio region will gain additional benefit from the overall advantages brought by a standard international numbering system, useful in all resulting respects (for example cataloguing, international identification, recognition of legal benefits, self‐ certification). Parole chiave: inventari forestali, Landsat, ortofoto digitali, k-NN, provvigione legnosa Surveying black pine plantations in the province of Rieti (Italy) Abstract In the last century large afforestation programs were carried out in the Apennines to re- cover degraded lands, mainly by Pinus nigra plantations. Currently, many Authors have proposed management guidelines to foster the naturalization of such woodlands.

  • 25Th INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION of HOSPITAL ENGINEERING CONGRESS
25th INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF HOSPITAL ENGINEERING CONGRESS IFHE MAY 27-31 2018 RIETI INVITATION Bologna June 10 2018 Dear International Federation of Hospital Engineering, The SIAIS (Italian Society for Architecture and Engineer for Healthcare) would be honoured to host in 2018, the IFHE 25th Congress, in Italy . The SIAIS believes that the opportunity to have in Italy the 25th edition of the IFHE Congress should not be missed for the following reasons: first of all, Italy is absent from the international scene for a long time, second is that the recurrence of twenty-five years cannot fail to see Italy, which in 1970 hosted the 1st IFHE Congress, as the organizer of this important moment in science. The proposed conference location is Rieti the centre of Italy. The proposed dates in 2018, are : from Sunday, May 27 to Thursday, May 31. The official languages of the congress will be English and Italian, therefore simultaneous translation from Italian to English and vice versa will be guaranteed. Should a large group of delegates of a particular language be present it will be possible to arrange a specific simultaneous translation. May is a very pleasant month in Rieti with nice weather, still long sunny days and warm temperatures. Rieti is an Italian town of 47 927 inhabitants of Latium, capital of the Province of Rieti. Traditionally considered to be the geographical center of Italy, and this referred to as "Umbilicus Italiae", is situated in a fertile plain down the slopes of Mount Terminillo, on the banks of the river Velino. Founded at the beginning of the Iron Age, became the most important city of the Sabine people.

De Lellis, snc, 07100 Viterbo, Italy, [email protected] 2Via F. Martinelli 34, Roma, Italy DOI: 10.5073/jka.2011.432.021 Abstract The coypu (Myocastor coypus) is native of sub Patagonian region, the temperate areas of Chile and Argentina. In Italy the first animals were introduced in 1928 for farming for fur production. Released and escaped coypu have altered the ecosystems colonized and impacted on agriculture and they are now considered as an invasive species. Three study areas were chosen in the Lazio region. The first area was a protected natural reserve characterised by extensive agriculture and backyard farming, the second was characterised by intensive and specialised agriculture, and the third was characterised by intensive agriculture. In order to understand whether there are problems caused by coypu in these areas, a questionnaire was prepared and distributed to 574 farmers/peoples living/working close to the investigated areas, and 389 completed questionnaires were obtained. The results covered the legal status of the species, the problem of damage to crops, and the negative effect on native species, and highlighted that the removal of this invasive species should be accompanied by an information program involving farmers and people living close to areas suitable for coypu. Keywords: eradication, introduction, invasive species, Myocastor coypus, public survey, rodents Introduction The coypu (Myocastor coypus) is native of sub Patagonian region, the temperate areas of Chile and Argentina (Cocchi, 2002).

  • Lazio (Latium) Is a Region of Traditions, Culture and Flavours
Lazio (Latium) is a Region of traditions, culture and flavours. A land that knows how to delight the visitor at any time of the year, thanks to its kaleidoscope of landscape and stunning scenery, ranging from the sea to the mountains, united by a common de- nominator: beauty. The beauty you will find, beside the Eternal City, in Tuscia, Sabina, Aniene and Tiber Valley and along the Ro- man Hills, without forgetting the Prenestine and Lepini mountains, the Ciociaria and the Riviera of Ulysses and Aeneas coasts with the Pontine islands. The main City is, obvi- ously Rome, the Eternal City, with its 28 hundred years, so reach of history and cul- ture, but, before the rise of Rome as a mili- tary and cultural power, the Region was already called Latium by its inhabitants. Starting from the north west there are three distinct mountain ranges, the Volsini, the Cimini and the Sabatini, whose volcanic origin can be evinced by the presence of large lakes, like Bolsena, Vico and Bracciano lake, and, the Alban Hills, with the lakes of Albano and Nemi, sharing the same volcanic origins. A treasure chest concealing a profu- sion of art and culture, genuine local prod- ucts, delicious foods and wine and countless marvels. Rome the Eternal City, erected upon seven hills on April 21st 753 BC (the date is sym- bolic) according to the myth by Romulus (story of Romulus and Remus, twins who were suckled by a she-wolf as infants in the 8th century BC. ) After the legendary foundation by Romulus,[23] Rome was ruled for a period of 244 years by a monarchical system, ini- tially with sovereigns of Latin and Sabine origin, later by Etruscan kings.

Abstract. In Italy at the end of 19th Century, malaria cases amounted to 2 million with 15,000- 20,000 deaths per year. Malignant tertian malaria was present in Central-Southern areas and in the islands. Early in the 20th Century, the most important act of the Italian Parliament was the approval of laws regulating the production and free distribution of quinine and the promotion of measures aiming at the reduction of the larval breeding places of Anopheline vectors. The contribution from the Italian School of Malariology (Camillo Golgi, Ettore Marchiafava, Angelo Celli, Giovanni Battista Grassi, Amico Bignami, Giuseppe Bastianelli) to the discovery of the transmission’s mechanism of malaria was fundamental in fostering the initiatives of the Parliament of the Italian Kingdom.

  • Interamna Lirenas and Its Territory Through Antiquity
This paper has been peer-reviewed and will also be published in J. Pelgrom and T. Stek (edd.), Roman Republican Colonisation: new perspectives from archaeology and ancient history. J. of Roman Archaeology, Supplementary Series, Portsmouth, RI. ROMAN COLONIAL LANDSCAPES: INTERAMNA LIRENAS AND ITS TERRITORY THROUGH ANTIQUITY ποταμοῖσι τοῖσιν αὐτοῖσιν ἐμβαίνουσιν ἕτερα καὶ ἕτερα ὕδατα ἐπιρρεῖ to those who step in same rivers ever different waters flow (Heraclitus, DK22b12) INTRODUCTION Archaeological research is constantly evolving. This is true not just of methodology, but also – perhaps especially – of the questions methodologies address. Archaeological survey in Italy developed from the awareness that ancient remains scattered across the landscape were being threatened with significant destruction with the spectacular growth of urbanization.1 Field-survey was the best way to record vanishing ancient settlement patterns. However, the amount of evidence collected has far exceeded its scope in both quantity and quality and, even in the initial stages, it was obvious that this new ‘ploughsoil assemblage’ had the potential to address wider archaeological and historical questions (e.g. Frederiksen 1970-71). Pioneering work was done in the South Etruria Survey organized by the British School at Rome (BSR), which paved the way for many more survey projects in Italy.2 Landscape archaeology, which is actively engaged with other disciplines (e.g. the natural sciences) and with ‘new’ technologies (e.g. GIS, geophysical prospection), has since become a fully established discipline and is making an essential contribution to illuminating the development of people and places throughout the Mediterranean.3 The questions the surveyors have raised have evolved with the development in its method.
