I enjoyed Hidden Bodies even more than You IF that's even possible!By JessiJoe pulled out all the tricks in this book and of course he falls in love and is up to his usual no good, but that's what we're asking for right? Throughout most of this book I felt like I was balancing two sides of Joe... his life chasing Amy and his life with Love. At times it was a little frustrating, but what I enjoyed most was the character development. Getting to watch Joe become a better man was what I was hoping for, but was also left wondering whether it would last or not. That's another wonderful thing about this book. It had me constantly questioning what was about to happen. I was thrown for a few loops and ended up being left quite surprised. My biggest question right now is, was he right?!Another great addition to this book was the fact that I finally felt the characters were a little more realistic and relatable. In the first book with Beck and Peach, I just didn't connect with them and it left me partial to the female characters, but obsessing over the down to earth Joe who just couldn't find love. (Poor Joe). So I was THRILLED when I could actually relate to these characters and maybe it was because of their California attitudes ;) Whatever it was, I'm thankful to have gotten to see more depth in each character.I gave this 5 stars and highly recommend this creepy and fantastic series! It reminded me of Dexter and how you easily get addicted to such an unfavorable type of character. I was left begging Caroline for more Joe!To hear more about this book check out: [...]0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. 4 StarsBy Kindle CustomerJoe is back and just as charmingly crazy as ever!DISCLAIMER:Do not read this review if you haven't read 'You' yet. It contains spoilers for 'You' but not for 'Hidden Bodies.'SYNOPSIS'Hidden Bodies' starts up where 'You' left off. Joe has killed Beck and just met Amy. He's still stressed about the little cup of DNA he left in a closet in Little Compton. He and Amy seem perfect for each other and once again, Joe is in love! But being a psychopath who has murdered several people considerably lowers your odds of having a sweet, old fashioned courtship... Not surprisingly the relationship does not have a "happily ever after" ending which leads Joe to leave NYC and move to LA.After moving cross country, Joe is totally embracing the LA life style; he's into social media, he's using the term 'bro,' and living in Hollywood. He even meets some wealthy fringe celebs and becomes interested in screen writing. As the title of the book hints, there will be additional bodies to dispose of and more deranged behavior.WHAT I LOVEDEven though this is book two and I know exactly who and what Joe is, I still keep finding myself falling for his charms; hoping he (literally) gets away with murder, gets the girl and covers his tracks well. What's wrong with me????I loved Joe's snarky commentary about LA, rich people and the entertainment industry. It was interesting to watch him shift his opinions on all those topics as his circumstances began to change.I loved the whole Quinn family; Love, Forty, Ray, Dottie and The Pantry. They were such sweet, dysfunctional people. Love was surprising and Forty wasn't- he was such a typical insecure rich boy/ under achiever.LA was so well written that I felt as if I were there. It made me want to go back to visit asap!Once again the best part of the book was being inside Joe's seriously psychotic mind. So, so fascinating!WHAT I DIDN'T LOVESame complaints as last time; overly descriptive sex and mildly offensive language. Yet, knowing what I was in for, I didn't hesitate to download this book the second I finished 'You.'About 3/4 of the way through the book, I felt like it lost focus. Not enough to really bother me, but it just seemed to have one or two story lines going on at once.OVERALLI loved both 'You' and 'Hidden Bodies' and hope there will be a third book in the series.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Joe meets California and it seems things get more messy....By AlohaDDidn't we all need more Joe?? Since I started my journey of Joe on audio, I had to continue. My oh my. I am so glad I continued Joe's journey through audio because Santino Fontana was perfect as Joe and he continues to be the perfected twisted character that he was in You.Joe is now in California after following love there. He has been unlucky in love and he is bound and determined to find Love there and put everything behind him but he can't. He has loose ends and needs to make sure he isn't as sloppy with his future.I have to admit that Hidden Bodies definitely read like a sequel to me. Meaning that it just didn't hit on the same cylinders as the original. Don't get me wrong, I loved it and enjoyed the story, but the characters and the way Joe interacted with them wasn't on the same level as You. But if you listened to this on audio with Santino, he almost makes up for it. Because Mr Fontana IS MFing JOE!!! His twisted inner dialogue and his fluctuation in his reading style just grabs you.Overall, another good story but one that left me wanting a little more in some parts and less in others. This one read more like a thriller. Was it because he was in California now? Perhaps. Because it's all about Hollywood, right?Joe is going to be missed, but now I will need to follow Santino Fontana and see what he does with other characters. Because now, in my mind, IS Joe Goldberg. A little normal and a little psycho. That's my Joe. ldquo;Therersquo;s something deeply insidious about the storytelling of Caroline Kepnes. Joe Goldberg is no stranger to hiding bodies. In the past ten years, this thirty-something has buried four of them, collateral damage in his quest for love. Now hersquo;s heading west to Los Angeles, the city of second chances, determined to put his past behind him. In Hollywood, Joe blends in effortlessly with the other young upstarts. He eats guac, works in a bookstore, and flirts with a journalist neighbor. But while others seem fixated on their own reflections, Joe canrsquo;t stop looking over his shoulder. The problem with hidden bodies is that they donrsquo;t always stay that way. They re-emerge, like dark thoughts, multiplying and threatening to destroy what Joe wants most: truelove. And when he finds it in a darkened room in Soho House, hersquo;s more desperate than ever to keep his secrets buried. He doesnrsquo;t want to hurt his new girlfriendmdash;he wants to be with her forever. But if she ever finds out what hersquo;s done, he may not have a choice... ldquo;Therersquo;s something deeply insidious about the storytelling of Caroline Kepnes.
