    2013-14 WOMEN’S CENTER OF JACKSONVILLE Annual ReportIMPROVING THE LIVES OF WOMEN Dear Supporters, Donors and Friends, The Women’s Center of Jacksonville continued to expand its services to the community in 2013-2014. The Jacksonville Community Council Inc. (JCCI) study reinforced what we already know – that there is a tremendous need for mental health services for women in our community and thanks to a new grant from Baptist Health and continued support from the Women’s Giving Improving the Lives of Women Alliance through the Community Foundation, our counseling program was able to serve more women. Board of Directors A dedicated task force conducted a series of meetings throughout the year for the Sexual Assault Forensic Exam (SAFE) program. The Women’s Center President of Jacksonville received a signed Memorandum of Agreement with the City Alicia Grant of Jacksonville and effective October 1, 2014, the Women’s Center assumed Shirley Webb responsibility for this program. Immediate Past President Margo Castro During the same period, the Rape Recovery Team conducted extensive outreach in Nassau County in an effort to engage community partners and 1st Vice President increase awareness about services available for survivors. The first Nassau Gail Patin County Sexual Assault Response Team meeting was held in January and the Nassau County office is now open a minimum of one day per week. Both 2nd Vice President Baker and Nassau Counties proclaimed April as Sexual Assault Awareness Kathleen Langford Month via their respective county commissions and participated in awareness events throughout the month. Treasurer Alma Ballard Meanwhile we awarded three women with the Rosie the Riveter Award during the Equal Pay Day luncheon, the awesome Remission Rocks Alicia Grant Secretary Committee presented the 4th Annual Remission Rocks event for Bosom Michelle Mullen Buddies, we hosted several Women Renewed graduations, and we were awarded a grant from the Jim Moran Foundation which will allow us to add instructors for small classes.
