Local Government Week was developed to celebrate the key role that Ontario local governments play in helping to define the character, priorities, amenities and physical make-up of communities. The goal of Local Government Week is to put a face to local government staff and elected officials, engage youth and create an interest in community leadership. Local Government Week was held on October 15-21, 2017. On October 3, 2017 Township Council and Staff held the Council meeting at Zorra Highland Park Public School, on October 17, 2017 the Council meeting was held at Thamesford Public School, and on November 7, 2017 the Council meeting was Thamesford Public School and AJ Baker Public School students active held at AJ Baker Public School. All three meetings were a great success and saw students Grade 4-5 in their Council meetings!
