Each semester includes 15 weeks of education. The Summer semester (July-August) is also organized to ensure the continuity of students' education. Examinations and assessments The assessment of students consists of 2 parts: the mid-term assessment and the final assessment. The mid-term assessment is based on attendance to classes, free work of students, and assessment of knowledge, practical skills and activity. Maximum score for the mid-term assessment is 50 points. The final assessment consists of MCQ computer examination (for clinical subjects there is additional OSCE examination). Maximum score for the final assessment is 50 points. So, the total score for one subject is 100 points maximum.

Attendance to classes Students are required to attend more than 75% of each subject course. Otherwise they are not let to sit for according examination. University Hostels There is a hostel complex of 8 modern buildings for 2000 students. University Library AMU has the largest medical library in Azerbaijan. Both students and faculty use the facilities of the library on a regular basis. Sport facilities AMU has a big sport and fitness center. University sport teams have been the winners of various tournaments in the country and abroad. Students’ social activity AMU students have own dance group, music band, and debate club. They actively participate in volunteer projects. Internationalization AMU has bilateral collaboration with 67 universities, institutes, and organizations from 22 countries.
