DUNMORE EAST

Unrestricted anchorage for vessels in excess of port parameters for Belview Cruise Berth.

The anchorage at Dunmore East on the western shore of the estuary can be accessed without pilot or tugs and with no tidal or size restriction. Vessels of any size can anchor within 3 cables of sheltered tender landing pontoon. The 2 berth pontoon has a wheelchair friendly gangway and coach parking is 40 metres from top of gangway. Port transit time is minimal and under the complete control of the vessel’s Captain.

ISPS security requirements are easily implemented within this secure landing facility. This can facilitate two largest size ship tenders with no depth restriction. Dunmore East is a maximum of 30 minutes drive from the City and The Waterford Crystal Visitor Centre and Factory Tour.

Revenue Benefits: Due to the limitation of public transport Dunmore offers an opportunity for high sales of Shore Excursion. Evidence of this has been proffered by major Cruise customers where higher than average sales are achieved at Waterford.
