Nelson is a region rich in diversity and well known for its very broad arts community. The Abel National Park is a 30 minute drive from Nelson and boasts golden sand beaches and sparkling blue skies.

Arthur’s Pass is in the heart of the Southern Alps. Its high mountains with large scree slopes, steep gorges and wide braided rivers, straddle the main divide between Canterbury and the West Coast.

Banks Peninsula is a peninsula of volcanic origin teaming with wildlife and encompasses two large harbours and many smaller bays and coves. You will be rewarded with picturesque vistas at every turn from rolling hills to the sparkling water of the Pacific. The ’s largest city, Christchurch, is located north of the peninsula.

Wanaka is situated at the southern end of Lake and is the gateway to Mount Aspiring National Park. With its beautiful lake and mountain views, Wanaka is host to some of 's best outdoor recreation.

Queenstown is famous for its spectacular alpine scenery. Its lakeside location provides a beautiful setting and is the playground for adventure! It offers a variety of activities, yet also presents a wonderful haven in which to relax.

• Hiking in the : Kahurangi is one of New Zealand's newest national parks, and at 452,002 hectares it is also the second largest. In places it is an untracked wilderness, elsewhere a wonderful network of tracks lets you explore wild rivers, high plateaux and alpine herbfields, and coastal forests. *Duration approx. 5-6 hours (Departs: 8.30am).

• Explore the Abel Tasman National Park by Private Boat Charter: On this leisurely trip through the park you will experience some of the most magnificent coast line that New Zealand has to offer, where native bush meets golden sands and crystal clear waters are a play ground for birds, seals and dolphins. • Lunch at Pegasus Bay Winery: Enjoy lunch at the prestigious Pegasus Bay Winery, owned by the Donaldson Family who believe in sustainable viticulture management with organic techniques low crop levels. Pegasus Bay boasts breathtaking gardens, a natural amphitheatre and unique wetlands area with several lakes. The restaurant gives you a total food and wine experience along with contemporary art works from some of New Zealand’s leading artists. *Please note that Pegasus Bay Winery is located approximately 1 hour north of Christchurch.

Annandale is located at Pigeon Bay, approximately 1 hour from Christchurch. From Christchurch you will travel across the patchwork of the Canterbury Plains to the west of the city, then onto the Banks Peninsula. The road climbs steadily to Hill Top, where you get a breathtaking view of Akaroa Harbour.

Upon arrival at Annandale you will be met by the hosts and transferred to Seascape Villa. The lodge provides a 4WD courtesy arrival and departure vehicle. This is a transfer of approximately 45 minutes. *You will need to leave your rental vehicle at the main lodge. • Hiking and Mountain Biking: There are several spectacular tracks on the Annandale property itself, varying in length and terrain, including the 14km Pigeon Bay Walkway. *These can be enjoyed on your own.

• Clay Target Shooting: Clay-shooting tests the reflexes like no other sport. Enjoy a shoot in one of Annandale’s valleys, led by one of Canterbury’s most experience gun club instructors. *Duration 1 hour.

Nowhere in New Zealand is changing and developing as much as post-earthquake Christchurch. Visiting the country’s third largest city as it is being rebuilt and reborn is both interesting and inspiring.

• High Country Hiking: Minaret Station has some stunning hiking trails right on the doorstep. The glacial valley floor where the Lodge is located has an elevation of 3,000 feet which is right where the golden Tussock grasses begin to merge with the sub-alpine shrubs and mountain daisy wild flowers. Choosing a hiking trail that winds up the river valley will take you through this native vegetation transition and into the higher hanging basins formed from thousands of years of glaciation. The trails that head down stream follow the Estuary Burn river and soon merge into the native Beech Forest which forms a canopy over much of the valley floor. Hiking trails can be as gentle or as advanced as you prefer, due to the wide expanse of terrain stretching in every direction from the Lodge. At the end of each day hiking, what better way to relax and restore those muscles that with a private hot tub right there on the balcony of your suite!

• High Country Farm Tour: Minaret Station is a working high country farm with 10,000 sheep, 9,000 deer and 600 cattle all being run in one of the most remote parts of the country. See firsthand how the farm operates without any mains electricity, road access or amenities that can be found on ‘the other side of the lake!’ Take the helicopter down through the Estuary Burn valley landing at the Minaret Station farm homestead to embark on a 4x4 vehicle tour of this unique high country station. Experience first hand the intricacies of farming 26,000 stock units, help shepherds move mobs of sheep using the working farm dogs, see the extensive farming of deer on the hillside blocks and see woolshed shearing of sheep in operation all combined with an exciting helicopter ride.

| 21 February – 07 March 2017 • Guided Hike on the Routeburn Track: Enjoy a day hiking one of New Zealand’s most famous alpine walks with stunning vistas of sweeping valleys below and majestic peaks above. As you walk up the wide smooth track to Routeburn Flats your guide will point out the unique flora and birdlife of the Routeburn Valley. Enjoy a picnic lunch at Routeburn Flats Hut while taking in the splendour of the surrounding mountains before heading on to the Routeburn Falls or meandering home. The Routeburn Track traverses wild and scenic mountain country between the Hollyford and Dart Valleys at the base of New Zealand's Southern Alps. *The start of the track is a drive of approx. 1 hour 25 minutes from Queenstown.

• Queenstown Stargazing Excursion: Travel to the top of the Skyline Gondola where you will be met in the restaurant lounge and after a short walk to the top of Bob’s peak you will arrive at a separate area high above Queenstown where you will be far from the city lights. You can explore the southern sky and view an array of sights, from the iconic Southern Cross, to nebulas, planets, the Milky Way and other galaxies. As you gaze upwards, your guide will speak to you in more detail about the constellations and the sky above.

• Sam Summers Hike (Mt Creighton Loop)): A great half day hike beginning just outside of Queenstown on the Glenorchy road. Some steep but short uphill is rewarded with impressive views of Lake Dispute and Closeburn Station. Surrounded by Beech forest and Manuka for most of the journey with accompanying bird life. Takes in the intensively gold mined area known as 12 mile with Sam Summers as a later day gold miner and hut builder. Duration 3 hrs approx.

• Bobs Cove Loop: Easy hiking on Bob’s Cove (Te Punatapu, the sacred waters) offers lakeshore walks, historic sites, swimming beaches and fishing. The cove was a campsite for Maori on the greenstone / pounamu trail to the head of the lake. In the 1870s, seven limekilns were built here to burn limestone for building mortar and agricultural fertiliser. One intact kiln can still be seen alongside the track. Native red beech was extensively logged for this industry and gum trees were planted to provide future firewood. Duration 2-3 hrs approx.

• Hike in the Sawpitt Gully: Hike throughout the beautiful and Sawpit Gully area. Explore the dry mountain Beech Forest in the Arrow Gorge and discover the remnants of historic gold mining settlements strewn along the walk. Parts of this hike are challenging but the rewards are incredible natural vistas and native fauna and flora. Duration 2 hrs approx.

• Ben Lomond Hike: The track begins among Douglas fir on the Skyline Access Road/Tiki Trail. At about 800m altitude, you enter alpine tussocks and shrubs, climbing to the 1326m Ben Lomond Saddle, Ben Lomond Station. Here, you may enjoy a lovely picnic and return back down for a shorter 2 -4 hour hike. If fitness levels are higher, the track gets steeper and rougher as it approaches Ben Lomond's 1,748m summit. In fine weather, the view includes Mounts Earnslaw/Pikirakatahi and Aspiring/Tititea. Total Hike 4-7 Hours.

9.35pm On arrival into Auckland make your way at your own arrangements to the International Terminal to check in for your departing flight. This is a walk of approximately 10 minutes or there are complimentary shuttles that depart approximately every 15 minutes.
