2020 DOWNTOWN WORKER AND RESIDENT STUDY Conducted by HCP Associates on Behalf of Tampa Downtown Partnership

Internal Review Background

• The Downtown Worker and Resident Study for the Tampa Downtown Partnership was established as a baseline study in 2008 • The study is conducted biennially, making this the seventh iteration • Results from prior years’ studies have given rise to enhanced accessibility to the river, waterfront dining, events in the parks, new museums and attractions, extended operating hours for transportation and merchants, full-service grocers, and more • As Tampa continues to grow and new developments arise, Tampa’s residents and workers were offered an opportunity to provide insight into the future of Downtown and what that they wish to see • With COVID-19 impacting residents and workers, respondents were also asked some questions specifically related to the effects Methodology • Two online surveys: historical content, relevant edits, and new questions

• Residents who also work in downtown are asked to complete the resident survey

• Monitor respondent location throughout time period survey was open

• Fielded November 2, 2020 – January 15, 2021

• Tampa Downtown Partnership created a robust distribution plan including pushing the survey out through the Monday Morning Memo, social media, paid media, having members spread the word, and more
