The George and Barbara Bush Endowment for Innovative Cancer Research at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center

The George and Barbara Bush Endowment for Innovative Cancer Research is a critical and permanent part of M. D. Anderson Cancer Center's research effort. Each year, funds distributed from the endow- ment support new and innovative avenues of research, reducing the time researchers must spend writing grant applications, and allowing them to focus more fully on acquiring knowledge and other scholarly pursuits. Only interest from endowment funds is used to fund research, allowing the endowment capital to remain untouched as a long-term, predictable source of revenue for the future.

Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas

Since 1945, Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas’ purpose has been to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, business and economics to improve the quality of their lives.

Junior Achievement is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization. This year, more than 8,500 business professionals, parents, retirees and college students will enter our schools to teach Junior Achievement programs to more than 150,000 young people. These volunteers use their personal experiences to make the Junior Achievement curricula practical and realistic. Providing young people with positive adult role models who illustrate ways to build self-confidence and assist with finding avenues of success in our free enterprise system is a hallmark of Junior Achievement.

Beneficiaries of the funds are selected on the basis of the most promising cancer research to speed a cure and those who assure that all donated funds go directly to cancer research. Continental Airlines has been delighted with our association with the Administaff Small Business Classic for the past two years. The Champions Tour at Augusta Pines has given us a superb venue for enhancing our relationships with our customers. Furthermore, simply basking in the presence of so many golfing greats is inspiring! The tournament is all that, plus a chance to spend a few lovely days in The Woodlands. You can’t ask for more from any event. Jim McKeon, Managing Director, Global Cargo Sales and Marketing, Continental Airlines

HP has leveraged the Administaff Small Business Classic as a strategic partner development event. This event has been very successful for HP. Our partners have given us feedback that the pro-am activities have been a wonderful experience and the tournament staff went above and beyond to make it a great event. We now have our top partners asking us about next year and how they can participate. The event has also allowed HP and Administaff to leverage our shared business priorities. Our event coordinators have also been very impressed with how easy it is to work with the tournament staff and how flexible they have been to ensure that we have a successful event. We look forward to continuing this relationship with the Administaff Small Business Classic and the opportunity to use it to further develop our strategic partner relationships.
