THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS & SCIENCES ANNOUNCES The 43rd ANNUAL DAYTIME EMMY® AWARD NOMINATIONS Daytime Emmy Awards To be held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites on May 1st Daytime Creative Arts Emmy® Awards Gala on April 29th Individual Achievement in Animation Honorees Announced New York – March 24th, 2016 – The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the nominees for the 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards. The awards ceremony will be held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites on Sunday, May 1st. The Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards will also be held at the Bonaventure on Friday, April 29th, 2016. The 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award Nominations were revealed today on the Emmy-winning show, “The Talk,” on CBS. “After last year’s critically successful Daytime telecast, it is with great disappointment that The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announces that there will not be a broadcast of the 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy ® Awards,” said Bob Mauro, President. “After months of negotiations to find show sponsorship, the NATAS Executive Board has decided that the current climate for awards shows prohibits the possibility of a telecast this year. With that said, we will be putting on a world-class awards celebration honoring the best and brightest of Daytime television and look forward to an exciting show. All efforts regarding returning the annual gala to television in 2017 are underway.” “We are especially grateful for our passionate Daytime fans and are looking forward to producing a grand gala that honors the talents and artistries of all the professionals that represent Daytime television,” said David Michaels, SVP, Daytime Emmy Awards.

  • The One and Only Ivan Activity Packet
© 2020 Disney © 2020 Disney n adaptation of the award-winning book about one very special Agorilla, Disney’s “The One and Only Ivan” is an unforgettable tale about the beauty of friendship, the power of visualization and the significance of the place one calls home. Ivan is a 400-pound silverback gorilla who shares a communal habitat in a suburban shopping mall with Stella the elephant and Bob the dog. He has few memories of the jungle where he was captured, but when a baby elephant named Ruby arrives, it touches something deep within him. Ruby is recently separated from her family in the wild, which causes him to question his life, where he comes from and where he ultimately wants to be. The heartwarming adventure, which comes to the screen in an impressive hybrid of live-action and CGI, is based on Katherine Applegate’s bestselling book, which won numerous awards upon its publication in 2013, including the Newbery Medal. 2 © 2020 Disney CONTENTS Acknowledgements Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment would like to take 4 this opportunity to thank the amazing teams that came together to develop “The One and Only Ivan” Activity Packet. It was created with great care, collaboration and the talent and hard work of many incredible individuals. A special thank you to Dr. Mark Penning for 5 his ongoing support in developing engaging educational content that connects families with nature. These materials would not have happened without the diligence and dedication of Kyle Huetter who worked side by side with the filmmakers to help create these compelling activities.

This study addresses this literature gap by analyzing depictions of religion in holiday specials aired in 2018 from three top preschool networks: Disney Junior, Nick Jr., and PBS Kids. Using qualitative content analysis, this study reveals that preschool holiday specials are shifting away from more in-depth portrayals of diverse religions toward commercialized, generalized, and secularized portrayals of Christmas. Although Chanukah and other non-Christmas religious holiday specials are, on average, older and less common than Christmas specials, they portray non-Christmas traditions in greater religious depth than the more recent and numerous Christmas specials portray Christmas.
