 Thaikkattu Mooss' family has contributed significantly for the growth of Ayurveda, the science of holistic healing. The tradition of the family dates back to the legendary days of Lord Parasurama. The profound knowledge in all the 8 branches of Ayurveda - Kayachikitsa, Balachihsa, Grihachikitsa, Urdhwavanga chikitsa, Salya Chikitsa, Visha Chikitsa, Rasayanam and Vajeekaranam – gave the masters the title ASHTAVAIDYAN.

 The splendid tradition of Thaikkattu Mooss 'family begins with Sri. Narayanan Mooss and Ittiravi Mooss of the 19th century. In 1924, Ashtavaidyan Narayanan Mooss was awarded the much coveted title of VAIDYARATNAM by Lord Reading., the then Viceroy of India. Vaidyaratnam Oushadhasala was founded in l94l by Ashtavaidyan Sri. E.T. Neelakandhan Mooss, the son of Ashtavaidyan Sri. Narayanan Mooss. The Nation conferred upon him Padmasri in 1992 as a recognition of his contribution in the field of Ayurveda.  Vaidyaratnam Group of institutions comprises Vaidyaratnam Oushadhasala Private Limited in Thaikkattussery, Thaikkattu Mooss' Vaidyaratnam Oushadhasala Private Limited in Chuvannamannu, Vaidyaratnam Nursing Home, Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda College, Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda Foundation, Vaidyaratnam Herbal Garden, Vaidyaratnam Oushadhalayam Private Limited, Vaidyaratnam Research Centre and the prestigious Centre of Excellence awaiting Inauguration.

VAIDYARATNAM OUSHADHASALA(1941) Ashtavaidyan Sri. E. T. Neelakandhan Mooss, the illustrious son of Ashtavaidyan Vaidyaratnam Narayanan Mooss established Vaidyaratnam Oushadhasala in 1941. It is now dealing with the manufacturing and production of more than 600 classical medicines as well as 25 patent products. This is a place where quality blends modernity. The imported machineries and equipments fulfill the standardization of medicines and Modernization of production. VAIDYARATNAM NURSING HOME (SEPTEMBER 1955) A l55-bedded nursing home situated at Thaikkattussery ensuring tranquility of a typical rural ambience along with advanced treatment facilities. It provides PANCHAKARMA treatment strictly in accordance with the sacred tenets of Ayurveda" under the strict guidance of Ashtavaidyan Sri. E. T. Narayanan Mooss.

VAIDYARATNAM AYURVEDA COLLEGE (09.10.I976) Ashtavaidyan Sri. E. T. Neelakandhan Mooss established the Ayurveda College in 1975. It is a government aided college where in grant in aid support and salary to staff is provided by Government. The College offers BAMS Degree with the All India unified syllabus as per the Central Council of Indian Medicine norms. The College is equipped with modern facilities of teaching aids, laboratory, X-ray unit and Ultra Sound Scan unit, a library with a total collection of over 8000 books and two hospitals having a bed strength of 150 numbers.

VAIDYARATNAM AYURVEDA FOUNDATION This provides expert medical consultation facilities and other free services to the poor and disabled of the society. It conducts free medical camps and pain and palliative clinics in association with dealers and NGOs. It offers awareness programmes for foreigners, Panchakarma introductory courses for doctors from outside and Ayurveda masseurs' training programmes.

VAIDYARATNAM RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT LAB The R & D Lab is established with a view to monitor the production and standardization of Ayurvedic medicines along with drug research, clinical research and pharmaceutical research with the aid of modern instruments. The lab got accreditation of Ayush Department in the year 2011. Besides providing support to its own production units, it extends similar support to other private entrepreneurs in this field. VAIDYARATNAM RESEARCH CENTRE - CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE (2013) Following conferring PADMABHUSHAN to Ashtavaidyan Sri. E. T. Narayanan Mooss in20I0, Dept of Ayush had recognized our Research Centre and recognized, it as a Centre of Excellence. A grant was sanctioned to this effect based on which the Centre was established with a 40 bedded hospital specializing on Chronic Joint Disorders. The Centre was inaugurated formally on 14th December 2013 by Smt. Santosh Choudhary, Hon. Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare.

VAIDYARATNAM AYURVEDA MUSEUM 2013 The Museum, the first of its kind in the history of ayurveda, narrates the story of evolution through a slew of media that includes artefacts, sculptures, scriptures and pictures. An added attraction is a 3-D gallery to showcase the developments in the manufacturing of ayurvedic medicines as well as treatment techniques evolved over the ages. The Museum was formally inaugurated by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Hon. Former President of India, on27th December. 2013.

VAIDYARATNAM TREMENT CENTRES Apart from the Nursing Home at Thaikkattussery, at , there are treatment centres Koramangala, Bangalore, Chembur, Mumbai and overseas venture at Manama, Bahrain, where the treatment procedure is followed as per the strict guidance of Ashtavaidyan Sri. E. T. Narayanan Mooss.
