K99.1FM’s “A Day in the Country” Festival Features New and Established Artists

DAYTON, OH – On Saturday, August 11 th , K99.1FM’s 17th annual “A Day in the Country,” will offer fans an incredible line-up of country artists at the best possible ticket price – free. The annual event at Thomas Cloud Park in Huber Heights is K99.1FM’s listener appreciation concert, designed to give something back to the loyal listeners of the radio station and express appreciation for their support. Free tickets are distributed at sponsor locations to those over the age of 12. Children under 12 do not need a ticket to get in. There is a $10 admission the day of the event for those who have not obtained tickets in advance. This low ticket price is still considered a bargain with the caliber of talent and entertainment through out the day. Gates open at 11:00AM. Middletown Ohio native Felicia King will kick off the show at 12:45PM. Since the age of five, Ms. King has had a passion for singing. Her debut album, “It’s a Girl Thing,” is comprised of songs she wrote or co-wrote. Her songs are inspired by personal experiences close to her heart. She has recently signed a publishing contract, and is currently working on her second album. Getting the crowd on their feet at 2:00 pm will be McGuffey Lane. McGuffey Lane started playing at the Ohio State Campus, and since then has created some favorite hits, including “Long Time Lovin’ You.” McGuffey Lane has toured with the Charlie Daniels Band, The Judds, and other well known artists.

He has earned 15 number one singles, sold more that 16 million albums, and been awarded a vast array of industry and fan-voted awards. One of the keys to his success is his ability to choose incredible lyrics that tell a story and touch his listeners’ hearts. This year he plans to head back into the recording studio to work on a new album. In addition to the great country music, “A Day in the Country” features plenty of food, games, carnival rides and merchandise for the entire family.
