We see the iPad as whole new level.” a tool to support key processes in learning - accessing, organising, processing and http://www.apple.com/education/iPad/ publishing information, collaboration, creativity and communication - and for teachers to use them as an environment to facilitate deeper engagement in learning and higher-ordering thinking. Benefits to Students Digital Citizenship teaches students how to be discerning when accessing content and supports the ethical use of technology. Students will be supported with their ability to extend their own learning independently and they will be provided with a tool for improved communication between teachers, students and parents and encouraged to become life- long learners. 3 The iPad is a tool for learning These are our expectations: • Students need an Apple iTunes account with password and this is not to be shared with any other student. (Further information later in this booklet) • Have the latest iOS installed on the iPad. • The iPad should be brought to school each day, charged and ready to be used. The charger should be left at home to avoid losing it at school. • Your iPad must be protected by a case. There are many cases on the market. We would recommend a cover that gives all around protection. The iPad should be kept in its case at all times to avoid damage. • iPads are to be stored in lockers when not required in class. • Students must abide by the ICT policies set in place by the College at all times. • The iPad is to be used responsibly and students comply with teachers’ instructions to put the device away. • It is strongly recommended that a passcode is set up on your iPad to prevent others accessing your information as well as the “Find my iPad” app in case your iPad is missing so that it can be located. • Have the student’s College assigned e-mail account set up on the iPad mail app. • Students are responsible for backing up and managing their own data either through iCloud or iTunes. • The College will be supplying you with a safe personal online storage space for resources and work in progress (Elocker). Students may wish to set up their own Dropbox or iCloud service for storing data. 4 Digital Workflow iPads have greatly assisted with our workflows within the College. We have two customised apps that our students find indispensable: eLocker Aitken has its own ‘Cloud’ called ‘eLocker’! All students have their own personal eLocker that only they can access and also a series of class shared eLockers as eLocker is mapped to the timetable so that all students and staff are able to see the relevant information. Teachers are able to easily share information with their students and students can deliver work to their teachers using a dropbox. Teachers can mark work with digital ink and leave verbal feedback to assist students with their work. eLocker is available as an app on the iPad and also as a web based portal so accessible from any computer with internet access. Electronic Diary All students have access to an electronic diary to assist them with their organisation and homework. Students are able to add their own homework and see their homework load and their teachers are able to add homework for their students that cannot be deleted! All teachers have their own version of the app. There is a parent app to enable parents to see what homework their children have been given and any due dates. This is available from iPhones or iPads and also as a web-based service from any desktop PC, laptop or Android tablet or smartphone. 5 How are iPads being used? Students are expected to use their iPad in an appropriate and safe manner at all times. The more our students and staff use their iPads, the more ways they find to use them to support teaching and learning. Students currently use their iPads to access, communicate, collaborate and share information – email their teachers using their Aitken Mail, deliver work to their teachers and collaborate on a whole range of topics. iPads have become an indispensable tool to aid personal organisation, creativity and inquiry for all students and staff. Here are some examples of the many ways our students use their iPad: • Photographs – their work, board notes, College environment, steps of a practical task, animation projects. Students are reminded that they should only take photographs of teachers/other students with consent. • Film making, animation creation

MacBook Computer Manual Procedures and Information Brandon Valley High School Brandon, South Dakota Brandon Valley High School MacBook Air Computer Program The Brandon Valley High School staff has been having on-going discussions about how we can move our school forward to better serve our students. As a staff, we feel that it is important to constantly be looking for ways to improve the educational experience for our students to help prepare them for their next step. Though we have been very successful in the past, based on certain indicators, it is key to the success of our future students that we continue to adapt, adjust, and innovate to meet the changing needs of our students in and out of the classroom. Based on this premise, the BVHS staff is excited to launch a learning initiative, iInvest, to begin with the 2016-2017 School Year. Providing all students with 24-7 access to computers is a major component of the iInvest Intiaitive. We believe that the use of the computers and access to available technology, integrated throughout our program of instruction, will help prepare students for their future. The use of technology will allow our students to collect, analyze, consider and communicate ideas and information from an enormous pool of available resources. Through effective planning, our staff will guide students in the analysis, synthesis and evaluation of this vast store of information and help them apply it to complex and practical real-world problems in the classroom. Through the use of the Mac Book Air computers, the teaching and learning process will change over time with students assuming more responsibility for their learning and teachers becoming coaches in the classroom rather than dispensers of knowledge.

  • Apple Education Parent Guide to Privacy
Apple Education Parent Guide to Privacy This guide is designed to help parents and guardians understand how Apple helps protect the privacy of your student’s information. Our goal is to provide the best tools for learning, while making sure our technology works in ways that protect your student’s privacy and keep their data safe. Privacy and security are fundamental to the design of Apple’s hardware, software and services, and we have the following policies regarding student information: • We don’t sell student information, and we never share it with other companies for marketing or advertising purposes. • We don’t build profiles of students based on email content or web browsing habits. • We don’t collect, use or disclose personal student information other than to provide relevant educational services. Whether your school provides an iPad or a Mac, or your student brings their own device to school, this guide provides privacy details about the following categories related to the student experience: • Student accounts — an ID from Apple that gives your student access to services and other learning materials. • Student data — the information stored about your student, and the information your student produces by creating digital work. • Device management — how schools set up and manage iPad and Mac to ensure a productive learning environment. • Digital citizenship — the best practices for using technology at school and at home. Student Accounts iPad and Mac are like your student’s locker, desk and lab bench all in one — a place where their materials and schoolwork are all instantly accessible. For example, your student may be reading and taking notes on their iPad or Mac, or creating multimedia projects to document a science experiment.

EUNNI* Williamson College of Business Administration Youngstown State University Youngstown, Ohio 44555 RAMMOHAN R. KASUGANTI Williamson College of Business Administration Youngstown State University Youngstown, Ohio 44555 September 15, 2012 0 NO13006 The Mobile Apps Industry: A Case Study Evolution of the Industry Since the advent of the iPhone in early 2007, users could experience the functionality of personal computers on pocket-sized devices. These so-called “smartphones” and their associated mobile software “applications” or “apps” are becoming increasingly ubiquitous in our daily life. According to Mobilewalla.com, a website dedicated to cataloging and rating apps, the one millionth app was made available to users in December, 2011. Even with many of these apps being duplicates, or slight variations created for different devices (e.g., an app created for the iPhone and the iPad would be counted twice), that is an incredible explosion of interest for such a new industry. The growth in mobile apps has shown no signs of slowing, with as many as 15,000 new apps being released each week 1. The proliferation of apps being developed can only be expected to continue as smartphone usage grows globally. In a 2011 study conducted jointly by Google and Ipsos MediaCT Germany, data were obtained via random telephone interviews from amongst the general populations of the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Japan. The highest reported smartphone ownership was found in the United Kingdom (45% of those interviewed) and the United States (38% of those interviewed).

  • Peregian Springs State School Mlearning BYO Ipad Program
Peregian Springs State School mLearning BYO iPad Program Background Some parents ask about the evidence on which we are basing our ‘bring your own’ device programs. Research into technology in classrooms has been conducted over the last 30 years with the most influential and definitive research being done by Dr Reuben Puentedura. His research has shown that using technology to support instruction in a planned way (across K-12) rather than just having children play learning games has a significantly higher effect on student outcomes than introducing technology in later schooling years. IPads have been trialled in classrooms around Australia since 2011. There is a plethora of information on the Internet about these trials and their success in increasing student engagement, responsibility and a range of learning outcomes. These trials were so successful that in 2012 the Department of Education in Queensland provided every school with 10 iPads to be used with students with disabilities and learning difficulties. Of particular use to our school is the research undertaken by our own Department and also that of Victoria where one-to-one programs have been implemented widely for many years. The following websites provide some reading on this, should you be interested. • http://education.qld.gov.au/smartclassrooms/documents/enterprise-platform/pdf/ipad-trial.pdf • http://www.ipadsforeducation.vic.edu.au/pubs/ipads-for-learning/2017-ipad-trial • http://cheltenhamps.vic.edu.au/wp- content/uploads/sites/13/2014/11/iPads_for_learning_In_your_hands_trial_evaluation_report.pdf Our Regional Technology Manager (who is employed by the Department to work with schools to develop these programs) also has provided a number of resources to our School Council.

can't download mms check your apn settings chomp android Learn How to Change APN Settings on Your Mobile Device. How to find the APN settings for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. Tweet Share Email. The Access Point Name (APN) represents the network or carrier that your cellphone or tablet uses for internet access. Usually, you don't have to touch the APN settings because they are configured for you automatically. Sometimes, however, you may want to visit the APN settings screen on your device. Reasons people want to change their APN settings include troubleshooting when they can't get a data connection, moving an unlocked phone to a new service provider, attempting to avoid data charges on a prepaid cellphone plan, or trying to avoid data roaming charges. Some of the reasons to change an APN involve activities in which your cellular provider would rather you not engage, such as avoiding data charges. As a result, you can only view or edit your APN on your mobile device if the carrier allows it. If you can't access your APN, you have to contact your carrier to make any changes. Caution Regarding APN Changes. Changing the APN can mess up your device's connectivity, so be careful when editing it. Make sure you write down the APN settings before you make any changes, just in case. If you enter nonfunctioning APN settings, you might lose the cellular and data connectivity on your phone. You may also incur additional charges. iPhone and iPad APN Settings. If your carrier allows you to view the APN settings — and not all of them do — you can find it on your mobile iOS device in one of these two locations: Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Cellular Network Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Network.

Student device programs required IT to deploy, secure and manage hundreds, if not thousands, of devices manually, which was both time-consuming and lacked quality assurance measures. In 2010, Apple delivered — and improved upon every year — a robust management framework called mobile device management for managing macOS, iPadOS and iOS devices. MDM offers a clear path to streamline large- and small-scale device deployment, enrollment into management, inventory collection, consistent app and content distribution, and device security.
