Rotary Club Bali Ubud Sunset is proud to continue their tradition of FUNraisers, teaming with Betel Nut once again to present The Hogan Brothers, a wildly talented jazz fusion trio. Join us on Friday, 25 July at Betel Nut in Ubud, for this rare opportunity to hear some terrific jazz to benefit 8-year-old Ketut Evan Aiikrisna. The 100,000 IRP admission fee will go towards his medical costs.

Ketut recently had a successful operation for a Wilms tumor and is now getting chemotherapy. His parents are economically disadvantaged and RCBUS is helping to raise funds for his medical bills, which are estimated to run over Rp 100,000,000. Please help Ketut’s recovery by coming to this concert and showing your support.

Based in Oakland, California, the three Hogan Brothers are rooted in the American styles of Jazz, Funk, R&B and Pop, and are further influenced by such international styles as Timba, Tango, Gamelan, Highlife, Soukous, Afro-pop, North Indian Classical music and more. Born and raised in the Bay Area, the brothers were fortunate to take advantage of its excellent music programs (Berkeley High Jazz, Young Musicians Program, Cal State East Bay Music, UC Berkeley Ethnomusicology), and also had the opportunity to study internationally with master musicians in countries like Indonesia, Cuba, Ghana and Brazil.

They have performed with many great artists/projects such as: James Moody, Hugh Masekela, Peter Erskine, Tommy Igoe, Larry Graham, Bob Brookmeyer, Roy Ayers, Josh Jones, , Maria Schneider, Bobby Brown, Evan Rachel Wood, Keith Terry, Victor Wooten, Latoya London, Dave Chappelle, Crosspulse, Dynamic, Adam Theis, Jazz Mafia and O-maya.

This is a rare treat to hear wonderful talent - and for such a good cause!
