He finished 2009 spring drills as the starter at left tackle. He has played in 38 career games and has 22 starts. 2008: He had a stellar junior year, playing in all 16 games. He started in 15 contests, including 12 times at left tackle and three games at right guard. He was a second team All-Big Sky Conference pick. 2007: He played in all 12 games and started in two - at left tackle at Sacramento State and left guard against Northern Colorado. 2006: He had immediate impact at Montana after transferring from the University of Oregon, starting five games and playing in 10 at right tackle. 2005: He was a redshirt at Oregon and was moved from tight end to offensive tackle in fall camp. High School: He was a prolific tight end at Rogers High School for head football coach was Ted Lyons. As a senior he hauled in 37 passes, gaining 850 yards and scoring six touchdowns in 10 games. He was selected first-team all-state at the Class 4A level at tight end by the Associated Press and WashingtonPreps.com following his senior campaign. He was the first player from his high school in the past 25 years to earn first-team all-state honors. He was also a defensive stand out, leading his team in tackles and tackles for loss his senior year. Personal: His major is sociology. His mom is Julia Faye Horn of Spo kane. Birth date: October 2, 1986. Says Coach Hauck: “Levi is an outstanding football player. He’s got All-American potential. He is a tough guy, who plays very physically. Hes the kind of guy who you want protecting the quarterback from the blind side.” 2009 Grizzly Football ALL - AMERICAN O B IDUaATE; SHAWN LEBSOCK Montana: Shawn will be starting for the second season in a row, and with 190 career tackles, will soon move on to Montanas career tackles leaders list. He is the Grizzlies second leading returning tackier in 2009. He has played in 41 career games. 2008: He started all 16 games at middle linebacker and was the teams fourth leading tackier with 102 stops. He was fifth on the team with six tackles for loss. He was tied with four other players for the most forced fumbles with two. He was tabbed honorable mention All-Big Sky Conference. He was Montanas co-recipient of the Golden Helmet Award (hardest hitter) with senior strong safety Colt Anderson. He is also an outstanding student and named to the leagues all-academic squad for the third time in 2008. 2007: He missed the 2007 season after undergoing surgery and red-shirted. 2006: He was the Grizzlies seventh leading tackier with 78 stops and played in all 14 games. He was an All-Big Sky academic team pick. 2005: He played in 11 games as a “true” freshman and had one start (vs. Cal Poly on Oct. 22). He was named to the Big Sky academic squad. High School:He was voted as Montana Gatorade Player of the Year in 2004 and tabbed the co-MVP on defense at the “AA” level. He was a first team all- state selection at running back and at linebacker as a junior and senior. He participated in Mon tanas East-West Shrine Game and was one of the captains for the East squad. He also played in the annual Montana-Dakota All-Star game. He was an integral player for Billings Skyview s state championship team in 2003 and its runner-up squad in 2004. He also lettered in basketball and track. Personal: His high school football coach was his dad, Ron Lebsock, who is a former starting center at Montana. His older brother, Matt, was a safety at UM from 2003-06. His younger brother, Nick, is a junior fullback at UM. Birth date: May 17, 1986. His major is business administration. His parents are Ron and Bartie Lebsock of Billings. Career Highs: He had 12 tackles against UC Davis in 2008. He had a sack and a forced fumble against Montana State last season. Says Coach Hauck: “The best way to describe Shawn is that he is just a fine, all-around player. Hes got a lot of pop at the point of attack. He gets on and off blocks, and he runs things down. He has been ranked among the top Football Championship Subdivision returners the past two seasons, and last year he added one of the FCS s premier receivers to that list. 2008: He set a school record with 2,265 all-purpose yards, which is the fifth most in Big Sky Conference his tory. His 1,308 receiving yards for 15 touchdowns are the second most in a season at UM. Mariani led the Big Sky in punt returns, averaging 16.22 an attempt, which ranked him fourth in the nation. He was ranked 29th in the country in receiving yards per game (81.75). His 94-yard punt return against Idaho State tied the league record set by the Grizzlies Tuff Harris at Eastern Washington (2006). He was a first team all-league pick at both wide receiver and as a re turner. He was named second team All-American by the Sports Network and an honorable mention pick on the College Sporting News “Fab 50.” He led the Big Sky with four multiple touchdown receiving games, while his five 100-yard receiving games were the third most by a Big Sky player in 2008. He tied a school mark with four touchdown catches against Southern Utah, and his 208 receiving yards in that game are the sixth most (tie) ever by a Griz player in a game. He started all 16 games. 2007: He led the Big Sky and was 11th in the FCS in punt returns (13.32- yard average). He was an honorable mention All-Big Sky selection as a returner. 2006: He played in all 14 games, mostly on special teams, and had eight tackles in that role. He did not have a reception. 2005: He was a redshirt at Montana. High School: He earned 10 letters at Havre High School: three each in football and basketball and four in tennis. He was named all-state at wide receiver and at safety as a senior and at safety as a junior. He was named to the Great Falls Tribunes “Super State” team at safety as a junior and at wide receiver as a senior. His senior season he had 48 receptions for 1,237 yards and 16 touchdowns. He served as a team captain as a senior in football. His 2004 foot ball team was 12-0 and the state “A” champion. His head football coach was Troy Purcell. He participated in Montanas annual East-West Shrine Game. He was a three-time team MVP in tennis. His varsity tennis teams won four straight state and conference titles. Mariani was also a team captain his junior and senior seasons in both basketball and tennis. Personal: He is a business major. His parents are Steve and Julie Mariani of Havre. He returned four punts for 127 yards and had a 94-yarder for a score against Idaho State last year. He had 5 kickoff returns for 105 yards at Weber State in 2008, and his long kickoff return was a 62-yarder against the Wildcats in 2007. Says Coach Hauck: “Marc is one of the most explosive players on our foot ball team. He had an extremely productive season last year, both in the return game and at wide receiver.
