We use the phrase “out of the mouth of babes” (Psalm 8:2) to say that children are often wise beyond their years. Today, in the final post of our #GOTInvasion series, I’d like to discuss what comes from the mouths of a different kind of “babe”: the women of HBO’s Game of Thrones. From the sage words of these ladies (though, for some, I use that term extraordinarily loosely), here are 7 bits of “womanly wisdom” that are equally applicable to worlds with and without dragons, castles, knights, and servants. Heed these lessons, modern gals.     Numer 1/2019 (14) Marcelina N. Zdenkowska Komizm w serialu Miasteczko South Park Streszczenie: Serial South Park nie jest dostatecznie zgłębionym tematem. Natomiast z uwagi na swoją specyfikę jest to doskonałe pole badawcze zarówno dla kulturoznawców jak i innych dyscyplin pokrewnych. W artykule opisuję wspomniany serial, jego cechy charakterystyczne oraz głównych bohaterów. Dodatkowo definiuję słowo serial oraz opisuję jego proces przemiany, jaki nastąpił w ostatnich 30 latach. W następnej części artykułu opisuję komizm i humor, tu przytaczam popularne teorie między innymi: Bergsona, Dziemidoka czy Bahtina. Następnie ukazuję zjawisko komizmu i karnawału w serialu South Park, opisuję ich znaczenie i celowość stosowania ich w serii. Dodatkowo zaprezentowane fakty przedstawiam na przykładach. W tym analizuję wybrane dwa odcinki Naughty Ninjas oraz Dead kids, które doskonale ilustrują podejmowane przeze mnie zagadnienie. Słowa kluczowe: South Park, serial, komizm, humor, karnawał Summary: The South Park series is not enough explored topic. However due to its specificity it is a excellent research field for culture studies and other related disciplines. In the article I am describe the whole series its characteristics and the main characters. Additionally I am define the series and describe its transformation process that has occurred in the last 30 years. In the next part of the article I am describe the phenomenon of comedy and humor. I am quoting popular theories, like: Bergson, Dziemidok or Bahtin. Then I am show the phenomenon of comedy and carnival in the South Park series. I am describe their meaning and purposefulness of using them in the series and the presented facts I am presenting on examples.
