LONDON STROLLERS GROUP Website: http://www.ramblers.org.uk/london-strollers Twitter Account: https://twitter.com/londonstrollers WALKS PROGRAMME FOR JANUARY TO MARCH 2020 Welcome to the Ramblers’ London Strollers Group, which is part of the Inner London Area. If you are walking with the Group for the first time, just turn up at the Meeting Point and introduce yourself to the Walk Leader. Non-members of the Ramblers are very welcome to come on up to three walks before joining. For the latest information about a walk, please check the London Strollers’ section of the Walks Finder (Group Walks and Events Manager) at http://www.ramblers.org.uk/london- strollers, or telephone the leader. NOTES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR MEMBERS AND ASSOCIATE MEMBERS: INNER LONDON AREA AGM The Inner London Area AGM will run from 14.00 - 16.00 on Saturday 8 February 2020 at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, 235 Shaftesbury Avenue, WC2H 8EP (near the Holborn end of Shaftesbury Avenue). The AGM will consider the formal business of the Area – electing committee members for 2020-21, electing delegates for General Council 2019 in Bristol in April and the annual report and accounts. The guest speaker will be Paul Wood, who specialises in identifying and writing about street trees in London. Paul is a very entertaining speaker. Copies of his two books will be available at the meeting. The AGM is open to all Ramblers members in Inner London Area (that includes all London Strollers members). Tea, coffee and cake will be served. If any member of London Strollers wishes to submit a motions for discussion at the AGM, this should be submitted in writing, (email or letter) to the London Strollers Secretary ([email protected]; postal address available on request), by 31 December 2019. This date is also the deadline if you wish to put yourself forward as a delegate at General Council, or as a committee member on Area Council. Furher details are available on request. Copies of the Agenda will be available at the meeting to all those attending. OTHER NOTICES 1. Dogs: Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome on our walks unless stated otherwise. 2. Please note that whilst walk leaders attempt to give an accurate finish time, the actual pace and length of the walk depends on several factors, including walker speeds on the day, café and toilet queues etc. The finish time should therefore be treated as an estimate only, and cannot be guaranteed. Walkers will wish to bear this in mind when booking other events close to the finish time. NOTE FOR ASSOCIATE MEMBERS: Please note that, as agreed at last year’s AGM, London Strollers is now making a charge of £5 per year, or part year, to those Associate Members who wish to receive their copy of the Walks Programme by post. Payment for 2020 is due by 15 February 2020. Please contact [email protected] (07930 367984) if you have any queries about this.
