  • Mind-Sifter Salmon Pages.Fdx
"MIND SIFTER" STAR TREK PHASE II Introduction from our screenwriter Rick Chambers: I have many great memories related to "Mind-Sifter," from the moment I was asked to create the teleplay from Shirley's magnificent story to the long hours and unflagging enthusiasm of the shoot. One memory that's especially dear to me is linked to the memorial service. While I was working on the teleplay in December 2013, my mother was dying. She was in hospice as I wrote the chapel scene and passed away as I finished the script. So the words I gave to McCoy, about the need to mourn, how it's part of life, and how we move on from grief and despair to hope, all were themes I was dealing with personally at the time. Then, when we shot the scene months later, and Jeff Bond delivered that powerful performance, I was in tears because those words were so right, so true. They resonate in the next scene, too, when Kirk makes his escape from the Klingons ; with his life seemingly about to end, he finds that window of hope, where "grace will lead me home," as the song goes at that moment he leaps through the Guardian. All of this was very meaningful for me personally -- and, I hope, meaningful for those who watch the episode. We shot all asylum shots at Ticonderoga High School. Our producer, Rob Mauro did extensive research and the architecture is period correct! TEASER FADE IN: 1 INT. ASYLUM HALLWAY--NIGHT 1 A dimly lit hallway, old and rough at the edges, a facility operating on a shoestring.

  • The XINDI CRISIS
Julian Wangler 1 Enterprise: AFTERMATH #1 2 Julian Wangler Julian Wangler The XINDI CRISIS A Transgression Dokumentsammlung Ω www.startrek-companion.de 3 Enterprise: AFTERMATH #1 Up until about 100 years ago, there was one question that burned in every human that made us study the stars and dream of traveling to them: “Are we alone?” Our generation is privileged to know the answer to that question. We are all explorers, driven to know what’s over the horizon, what’s beyond our own shores. And yet, the more I’ve experienced, the more I’ve learned that no matter how far we travel or how fast we get there, the most profound discoveries are not necessarily beyond that next star. They’re within us; woven into the threads that bind us, all of us, to each other. The Final Frontier begins in this hall. Let’s explore it together. – Jonathan Archer, 2155 © 2014 Julian Wangler STAR TREK is a Registred Trademark of Paramount Pictures/CBS Studios Inc. all rights reserved 4 Julian Wangler Am 4.

  • 1 the Y2K Bug Fears Prove to Be Groundless. Shannon O‟Donnell
2000 The Y2K bug fears prove to be groundless. Shannon O‟Donnell convinces Henry Janeway to close his bookstore so that construction of the Millennium Gate can move forward. LeVar Raymond was born. The International Space Station is inaugurated this year. 2001 January 1st: Groundbreaking for the Millennium Gate. September 11th: A massive terrorist attack is launched against the United States of America, destroying the World Trade Center and seriously damaging the Pentagon in Washington, DC. Thousands of people die in the attacks, one of whom is a firefighter whose firefighter‟s axe will become a treasured family heirloom, eventually coming into the possession of Domenica Corsi. Shaun Christopher was prevented from boarding one of the planes which crashed into the World Trade Center by Gary Seven. As a result, he survived to command the first manned mission to Saturn aboard USS Lewis & Clark in 2020, a pivotal event in the history of human space travel. 2002 Nomad, Humanity‟s first true interstellar probe, designed by Jackson Roykirk, is launched by NASA. In 2153, the only map of early 21st century Detroit in the database of the NX-01 Enterprise will come from this year. 2003 On January 29th, US President George W. Bush gives his State of the Union Address. He speaks about his plans to remove Iraq‟s leader Saddam Hussein from power, introducing hydrogen cars, abortion and fighting AIDS in Africa. A contemporary news article about this event by Jake Tapper appeared in the Daniels‟ 31st century database. Lieutenant McMillan was scheduled in 1999 to be the co-pilot on a joint mission between NASA and the Europeans for a four month tour on the International Space Station that began in 2003.
