SHAFIRA HUSNA

Hello, guys! I got a very memorable vacation last month, from the Forest Project, which is a program of collaboration between the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This holiday is one of the prizes for the winners of the English Speech Competition and Drone Video Competition for "2019 International Forest Day". Me (as the winner of College category), Monic (as the winner of the SMP category), and Alifio (as the winner of the SMA category), and Kang Septian (as the winner of the Drone Video Competition) got the opportunity to spend three days in .

Monic, Alif, and Kang Septi came to on Monday (22/4). The next day, we met at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Our trip to Malang accompanied by Mbak Lia, Mbak Rizka, and Mbak Lala as representatives of KLHK and UNDP, also by Monic’s father. We went to Malang with Sriwijaya Airplane SJ250, landing at 8:55 AM. It only takes about one and a half hours, but I feel like a straight flight for three hours. Maybe it's because I went to the airport at 3 AM, when everyone was still sleeping, by the Airport Bus.

In Malang, Mr. Arie and Mr. Maman drove us to several holiday destinations, also to our main destination for the first day, Bromo Tengger National Park Hall. Along the way, Arie told us a lot of information about Malang. Our first goal is "Kampung Warna-warni". We need to pay 3 + 3k (or total 6k rupiahs) and get 1 key chain + 1 sticker as a "ticket". After we have enough photos (haha), we go to eat at "Rawon Nguling". Then we pray the midnight prayer at the Grand Mosque of Jami ' Malang, which still maintains its "antique" building style. We also tried some delicious ice creams from Toko Oen, which is known as the legendary ice cream restaurant in Malang. Then we continued the journey and arrived at our main destination, Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Hall. There, we had some talks with the head of administration. She gave us a lot of information and important things about Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. We also asked about the place, history, and other destination near Bromo National Park

After that, we thought that we already tired enough for that day, so we went to the hotel. We spent our night at Swis-Belinn Hotel, which is next to Transmart MX Mall Malang. Because we ate dinner separately, I bought some food at Transmart. One reason we had a separate dinner was because we had to go to bed early and wake up in the middle of the night. Wake up in the middle of the night? Can you guess what we will do next?

Hahaha, you are right. At midnight, we went to Bromo to see the sunrise. We arrived at the summit of Mount Pananjakan, one of the best places to see the sunrise, at 3 AM. Because it feels like freezing there, we go to eat instant noodles and hot drinks there. After we have enough energy and warmth, we are looking for a comfortable place to sit and watch the sunrise. We took many photos there. This is one of the photos I took from the sunrise.

After the sun really rises, we go to the "sea of sand" area. There is Teletubbies Hill, "Whispering Sand", Luhur Poten Temple, and a road to climb . Unfortunately, we cannot reach the top of Mount Bromo to see the crater directly because Mount Bromo was very active at that time. We have breakfast in the Jeep, because the wind can make our food full of sand . Then we took pictures there also enjoying the atmosphere of the morning with mountain views, "sea of sand", tourists, and horses that could be rented to take pictures or to get around in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. As the fog grew thicker, we rushed to Edelweiss Village. We only buy some souvenirs there, because this is not the harvest season. Then we had lunch at Dapoer Lawang and continued the trip to (Transportation Museum). We split up there, enjoyed many photo spots there and gathered to return at 4 PM. Then we bought some souvenirs and food as "souvenirs". We closed the second day of the trip by enjoying the "President Meatballs" which located beside the railroad tracks.

The next day, we went back to our respective regions of origin separately. Monic and her father went to Pekanbaru, also Kang Septi and Alifio went back to Bandung. The rest went back to Jakarta. Alhamdulillah.
