Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering, one of the leading institutes in and around Pune, believes that Quality is always a result of strong intentions, dedicated efforts, appropriate and intelligent decisions and skillful execution and thus envisions to serve the Society, Industry and all its Stakeholders through Value Added Quality Education. The world of 21st Century has become a global village owing to impact of globalization, liberalization and privatization. This gives us a realization of our strength and affirms the success of our four pillar philosophy. However, as the Head of Institute, I still believe that this is just the beginning and through a CC strategic roadmap, we are committed to grow further in new dimensions to seamlessly fit into the global fabric and be at par with the global standards of excellence. This roadmap focuses on our broad objectives of further creation of the requisite infrastructure for the expansion, strengthening of faculty competency and laboratory and research facilities that not only addresses the requisites of curriculum but opens new frontiers for research in emerging domains and envisions the creation of incubation centre to enable entrepreneurship and value creation from the research and innovations leading to cutting edge research. PCET Silver Jubilee Celebration

Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust (PCET) completed its journey of 25 years of imparting Quality Education this year and a grand silver jubilee celebration was arranged on 10th January, 2016 event to commemorate the vision and contribution of PCET Founder Late Shri. Shankarrao Bajirrao Patil and other honorable trustee members. This mega event was graced by Shri Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, Hon'ble Governor of Maharashtra State as chief guest, Shri. Harshwardhan Patil and other dignitaries and esteemed guests.

National Conference on Industry Institute Interaction-2016 Silver Jubilee Celebration

PCCoE organized 8th National Industry Institute Interaction meet on 28th March 2016 with overwhelming response of 2725 participants which included 1800 students, 225 industry experts, 500 faculties and 200 TPOs from different colleges. The interaction was organized in association with NASSOCM, S. P. Pune University, BOAT (Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India), MIDC, SME Chamber of India for their Association.

First Graduation Ceremony at PCCoE for batch passing out in 2014-15 was organized on 12th April 2016 as per the SPPU guidelines. Dr. S. N. Pathan- Former Vice Chancellor, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University and Vice President Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi, graced ceremony as Chief Guest. Dr. V. M. Domkundwar – Professor Emeritus, Department of Mechanical Engineering , COEP, Pune was the Guest of Honor. Total 475 graduates were honored with Bachelor of Engineering degree. The event was coordinated by Prof. S. L. Tade, CEO and Secretary of Organizing Committee under the guidance of Dr. A. M. Fulambarkar, Principal and President of the Organizing Committee. PCCoE organized fifth cPGCON- an annual conference for the Computer Engineering Post Graduate Students on 25th - 26th Mar. 2016 in association with BoS, Computer Engineering and Savitribai Phule Pune University. First Year Engineering Department organized SPECTRUM 2016 on 20th March 2016, a State Level technical competition which included nine different events. It is a mega carnival where young minds with innovative thought come under one roof to showcase their skills. With overwhelming response, this year around 1107 students from different colleges across Maharashtra participated in this event. Prizes of total amount Rs. 71,200/- were given. Insperia 2016 - A State Level Techno-Management event was hosted by Department of MCA for Under Graduate and Post Graduate students to provide a platform to reflect Business Skills, Technical Competencies, Knowledge Sharing and Application with Experimental learning. 06 Distinguished Student Achievements Team 'Kratos Racing’ (PCCoE SAE SUPRA Team ) emerged as Champion of SAE SUPRA 2016 Competition

Team Kratos Racing- PCCoE SAE SUPRA Team won the Championship for SAE SUPRA 2016 competition held at Buddha International Circuit, Delhi during 4th - 9th July 2016 and bagged First position awards for Fuel Economy, Skid Pad, Autocross, Endurance and overall performance and became the only vehicle to receive FSAS sticker. Dronacharya award for best faculty advisors awarded to Mr. Amol Suryavanshi and Mr. Nilesh Gaikwad.

Team Kratos Jr. had also participated in NIRMAAN Go-kart Competition 2k16 on 11th and 12th April 2016 at Mahalaxmi Gokarting Track Pune and secured 5th position amongst 30 participating teams in NIRMAN Go Kart. Ms. Monika Thombre received special award -Diversity in Team.

SAE BAJA 2016

PCCoE student team Red Barron participated in BAJA SAEINDIA 2016 - The 9th National Level All Terrain Vehicle Competition sponsored by Mahindra & Mahindra at Pithampur, Indore during

17th - 21st Februay 2016 and got selected for the fifth consecutive time amongst 149 participating teams all over India. The team won 2nd Prize of Rs 40,000 in “Technology Innovation” category for use of Composite material in steering system and 5th Rank in Engineering Design.

Robocon-2016

PCCoE student team for the 6th time participated in Robocon 2016 - the National Robotic Contest with theme “Clean Energy Recharging the World” jointly organized by Doordarshan and MIT COE, Alandi, at Shiv Chhatrapati Krida Sankul, Balewadi, Pune during 3rd to 5th March, 2016.Team played two matches in league stage scoring 50 points and secured 47th rank in the league matches.

Ms. Payal Kharatmol (SE Mech) got Best Actor- Consolation Prize for play “TRUSTBIN” in Dyankranti Karandak 2016. vParticipation in prestigious Gadkari Karandak 2016 organized under Akhil Bhartiya Natya Parishad on 18th Feb. 2016.The team got various awards like Best Set Design- 1st Prize (Nilesh Tepale-TE ENTC and Saurabh Dawale-SE Civil), Best Direction-2nd Prize (Akash Thite-BE Mech) and Best Play-3rd Prize (Namrata More-TE ENTC and Akash Thite-BE Mech) for the play “TRUSTBIN” in Gadkari Karandak. vCharity show “Denaryache haath Ghyave” arranged on 23rd March 2016 in Ramkrishna more Auditorium, Chinchwad-Pune. The one act play 'Trustbin' which was performed in top level competitions like Purushottam and Gadkari Karandak was performed in this show. It exhibits the emotions and the struggle against prevalent inequalities in the society of 7th grade young girls. Amount worth Rs. 50,000/- collected from the show was donated to NAAM Foundation. vMarathi Bhasha Divas celebration to uphold the rich tradition of Marathi language celebrated on 27th Feb. every year. Mechanical Engineering department of PCCoE has strong believer of innovation & quality culture among all the students.

The recent initiative of our department is to establish a product innovation lab in collaboration with 3DPLM software solution Ltd. The lab will be a multidisciplinary lab with learning by doing concept.

Mechanical Engineering department has initiated trainings in ADAMS,NX, CATIA, 3D-Scanning & CMM training. This will enable our students to be industry ready with required skill sets.

Mr. Suryakant Shankar Jadhav, Proprietor, Kedar Engineers and Mrs. Sangeeta, Principal of Kamayani School for Mentally Retarded Children graced the event.

Social Commitment

Our fourth Programme Educational Objective is to create awareness among students about codes of professional practice, social commitment and life-long learning. vSocial Study Tour to Hivre bajar on 6th Mar. 2016 to create awareness among the students regarding how a small village can be developed drastically without taking support of government funds and various projects implemented to improve wealth of the village.10 student and 2 faculties from Mechanical Department visited the village. vFarewell Party at Nachiket Balgram on 10th April 2016 by NSS and ISR students where students extended monetary support for Academic Year expenditure of 17 girls from Nachiket balgram, Pune.

20 Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Programme From HOD's Desk As 21st century is the century of communication and competition, our main motto is to produce graduates who will be technically sound, well cultured and globally competent. The strength of the department is its well qualified and experienced faculty members & supporting staff with state-of –art laboratories. The Department of E & TC has a fine blend of renowned as well as young and dynamic faculty, who strives to foster and encourage a teaching methodology that is both practical and theoretical in approach leading to Project based learning culture in department. The lab facilities are being upgraded from time to time and provide adequate opportunities for the students to learn and innovate. Students are also encouraged to participate in the extensive array of opportunities which exist beyond the classroom. Department has fully equipped Project lab to encourage the students to show their creativity. Educational tours and industrial visits are regularly organized to enhance the practical knowledge of the students and to interact with the recent technologies used in the industries.

Our second Programme Educational Objective is to provide students with good Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering breadth so as to enable them to comprehend, analyze, design, and create products and solutions for the real life problem.

We take every possible effort to boost our students and faculties towards research excellence through various research based activities, project and activity based learning which has resulted in increased count of research based activities, Industry-institute interactions, MoUs, research publications and patents. Following are our research based initiatives: vTwo Days State Level Workshop on Design and Simulation of Low Power Integrated Circuits using HPSICE at Deep Submicron Technology was organized under QIP of SPPU on 26th - 27th Feb. 2016. Guest of honor and key note speaker Dr. Dipankar Nagchaudhari, Ex-Prof. IIT-Delhi, DAIICT Gandhinagar guided 44 participants including students and faculties. Mrs. V. S. Bendre and Mr. U. R. Shirode were the faculty coordinators. vOne day workshop on Exploring Signal Processing was organized by E&TC Department for TE and ME (E&TC & IT) students and all staff members on 30th March 2016. Mrs. Rajani. P. K, Mrs. Swati P. Jagtap, and Mrs. Mamta H. Murai along with ME, TE and SE students worked as resource person and also coordinated the event.

Two Days State Level Workshop Workshop on Exploring Signal Processing Hands-on Training vTwo days Hands on Training on PCB Designing, Circuit Simulation and Layout Designing was organised in association with Nutan Infotronics on 2nd - 3rd Jan. 2016 for S.E.(E & TC) students. Mr. Ranjeet Singh and Mr. Nikhil Sonune from Nutan Infotronics provided training to 152 participating students. Mrs. S. U. Deoghare, Mrs. Mrunalini Bhandarkar, Mrs. J. P. Joshi and Mrs Sangita Patil coordinated the activity. vHands-on Training on Internet of Things was organized for M.E. E&TC students by Nitin Paranjape and Chintan Khaboljha of Edutech Learning Solutions Pvt. Ltd. on 12th Feb 2016. vHands-on Training on RF planning was organized for B.E students on 11th Mar. 2016. Mr.V.M.Dapurkar, RTTC, BSNL was the resource person and Mr. G. R. Rahate coordinated the activity. vSeries of Technical sessions on Vivado Design Flow, Xilinx Design Constraints, Hardware and Software Implementation with various boards and Xilinx System Generator was conducted for ME student from 1st March to 30th April 2016. The technical session was conducted by Mr. Mayur Deshmukh, CoreEl Technologies and coordinated by Mrs. Varsha Harpale. vTechnical Session on Blackfin Processor And Other Microcontrollers was organized by Dr.N.B.Chopade on 12th April 2016 for First Year ME Students. The sessions were technically supported by Wavelet Group of Industries where Mr. Mandar Joshi and his team focussed on basics of DSP architectures and recent trends in DSP, Programming with Blackfin processor and recent projects in wavelet industry.

27 Overall Student Development Initiatives Electronics and telecommunication Students Association (ETSA) Faculty Incharge: Mr. S.S. Ayane and Mrs. Archana Lalge vElectronova 2K16 - The technical symposium comprising of various technical and non- technical events like Dumbshrenorics, Project Competition, Poster Presentation, Paper Presentation, Arduino Coding, Mad-Ads, PCB Design, IPL Main, Aqua Boat and Line Tracer was organized on 11th -12th Jan. 2016 with @1050 participating students from all departments.

vPoster Competition on 15 grant challenges was arranged on 11th -12th Jan. 2016 that addressed issues like Solar Energy management, Radiation, Green energy, Global warming, Rain water harvesting, E-waste management in society with 140 participating students.

vProject Competition for TE and BE ( E & Tc) students was organized on 4th April 2016 with more than 350 participating students. Prof. A.B. Patil, Mrs. R. S. Kad and Mrs. A.S. Pawar coordinated the activity.

vCounseling session on "Effective Utilization of Preparation Leave "delivered by Mrs. Meera Natrajan and Mrs. Anjali Shrivastav was arranged on 7th Apr. 2016 for the S.E. and T.E. students under the Communication & Personality Development Cell to guide students to effectively utilize their Preparation leave before university Exams, efficiently utilize time and handle stress during exam time. vGuest lecture on Success Mantra for Soft Skills delivered by Mrs.Meera Natajan, F. E. Dept, PCCoE was organized for SE (E&TC) students by Mrs. Rajani. P. K and Mrs. Anjali. A. Shrivastav on 14th and 16th Mar. 2016 to provide students with necessary tools and techniques for effective communication, build right attitude and imbibe essential values.

E. students Apurva Arunkumar, Ashish Jangam, Mayank Chitarvar from B.E bagged 3rd Prize in Think –A- Tank competition conducted by IT Department on 11th-12th Jan 2016 and consolation prize in poster competition conducted by D.Y. E. students Kumavat Sukanya, Kumbhar Aakanksha and Lonkar Madhuri bagged third position in project presentation competition under Electronova event on 11th & 12th Jan 2016 for project " Smart Ration Card system using Raspberry Pi ". vB. E. student Shubham Shevade directed a Music Video as a “Sci-Fi Tribute” to the greatest director of all time Stanley Kubrick .This music video was shot using a mobile phone and is selected in 5th Pune Short Film Festival 2015. vEight students has successfully cleared GRE 2015-16 and six students have successfully cleared GATE 2015-16

Social Commitment

Our fourth Programme Educational Objective is to create awareness among students about social commitment and responsibilities.

To strengthen this pillar, we organize various activities which are small initiatives to give back a little to the society from where we take so much.

Activities of Social Concern vOne Day Workshop on Basic Electronics "SPARK” for school going students (standard from 6th to 10th) across Pune was organized on 3rd June 2016. The workshop focussed on creating know how of basis of electronic components among students and well supported by practicals on Basic and simple electronics circuits like LED glow, Musical Bell, Siren Generator and Touch Alarm. This event was convened by Dr. S. U. Bhandari and coordinated by Mrs. G. D. Sandbhor, Mrs. N. P. Sonar and Mr. P. A. Sandbhor. vVisit to Tara Orphanage, Chinchwad, Pune was organized jointly by ETSA & ISR Cell on 19th Mar. 2016 with 24 participating students and donated various needed items worth Rs 7500/-approx. for the 35 physically challenged children of the orphanage. vSession on Personality Development at Z. P. school, Yelsegaon by E & Tc CPDC student team in association with NSS for students of 1st to 4th standard coordinated by Mrs. Anjali Shrivastav, Mrs. Archana Lalge and CPDC student incharge Mrugnayana Thorat.

Workshops and Training Programs organized to support academic excellence are: vTraining course on Project - Enterprise Application Development using J2EE by Mr. Sravan Kumar- was conducted on every non working weekend from January - March 2016 by WebTech Labs under IBM CE. The training was organized by Mr. S. R. Jadhav and 45 students completed the training. vWorkshop on “Advanced database Tools: XML, DynamoDB and Cassendra” organized by Mrs. Sandhya. S. Shinde and Mrs.Rohini Pise on 14th Feb. 2016 for final year students of IT department. The speaker was Mr. Vinod Maid, Project Manager (Tech Mahindra Pvt. Ltd). Total 90 Students participated in the workshop. vMobile Application Development using Android was organized by Mr. S. R. Jadhav on 12th -13th February 2016 for students of IT department. The training was given by Ms. Talina Shrotriya and Mr. Sumit Kale (Manage Code Cultivate LLP) certified trainer. Total 41 Students are successfully completed the training.

IT TECHLLIGENT –KSHITIJ 2016 with theme Discotheque and E -Waste Management was organized on 11th - 12th Jan. 2016 organized by ITSA comprising of various Technical and Non-Technical events.

Major Highlights of KSHITIJ 2016 were Buzz Wire- A simple wire loop game , Discotheque- made through a piece of wood, set of wheels and integrated with ARC microcontroller and sensor and Kshitij-Light Board- a 15 metre long LED strip displaying event's name 'KSHITIJ- 2016”. Approximately 700 students from in and outside pune participated in the event.

53 vMatholic Activity was conducted during 8th - 12th Feb 2016 by Mrs. Ashwini Vaze, Mr. Arif Bagwan and Mrs. Nishi Gupta. vSinging competition was organized under Cultural club on 16th March 2016 which was filled with variety of songs such as bhajan, classical songs etc. The program was organized and coordinated by Mrs Niharika Upadhyay, Mrs Renuka Purohit and Ms Falguni Bhavsar.

Department's Fourth objective is to create and nurture sense of self responsibility and make them realize what they owe to the society.

Competitions are organized to promote and encourage students towards social commitment, which would help students establish contact with their immediate environment. vDrawing competition was organized on 8th Jan.,2016 under wall magazine to enhance the creativity skill among students .They were given themes like “ India in your dreams” ,“ Water Conservation” and “ Expressing your environment through art”. Students expressed India in their dream by developing facilities, conserving energy resources and more employment opportunities. The Event was coordinated by Mrs. Anu Thomas, Mrs. Puja Kate, Ms. Falguni Bhavsar.

The Department of Computer Applications was started in the year 2007 and has been functioning successfully with annual intake of 60 students. MCA Department strives towards excellence in the field of Computer Applications. The Department has well qualified and experienced faculty members with state-of-the-art infrastructure. The Department has committed and dedicate through teaching and good learning environment for the student enhancement. The Department regularly organizes various seminars, conferences and workshop in the area of Computer Applications. The department promotes Research and Development activities and also providing value added courses towards excellence in this field. The students of Computer Applications have been recruited by renowned companies like TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, KPIT etc. The department has a Student Association (MCASA) to encourage and motivate students to conduct and participate seminars, conferences and workshop on latest IT issues and to participate themselves in industry interactions.

MCA Student Association (MCASA) vSave Water Skit MCA students has performed the Street Play Act on 26th January 2016 at PCCoE for the students and faculties to make them aware about importance of water and ask them to use minimum water in a day to day life. 57 Insperia – 2016

Department is successfully organizing The State Level Techno Management Event – Insperia from last 3 years. This year Insperia-2016 was organized on 17th and 18th February 2016. It is a symposium for Under Graduate and Post Graduate students which lead to develop their Technical and Management Skills.Four events, C-Scuffle, SQL Master, Human Chess and Rodies were conducted in Insperia-2016. More than 700 students were participated in the event all across Maharashtra. Mrs. Shilpa Dhavale, Associate Vice President, KPIT, Pune and Dr. A. M. Fulambarkar, Principal, PCCoE inaugurated the function. Chief Convener Mrs. Anjana Arakerimath, Convener Mr. Prashant Kulkarni along with faculty and students successfully coordinated the event.

Parent Meet

To have more interaction between Stakeholders and College, Department has organized a “Parent Meet” on 18th February 2016. More than 31 Parents from different places has shown their enthusiasm with their presence in the event. Mr. Sopan Aghav was successfully coordinated the parent meet.

vSYMCA students Won 2nd Prize in the National Level Skit Competition at ATSS College on 13th February 2016. The skit was performed on the theme of “Farmer Suicide”.

We at PCCoE- MBA believe in holistic development of students. Different activities are conducted under different cells for development of students. vEnglish Speaking Activity conducted by Mr. Ritesh Phalke from 28th Dec. 2015 to 02nd Jan. 2016 for MBA- I year students that included the motivation to speak and pronounce right English. It also included English Grammar, Conversational Practice and Situational Speaking. vSession on dissertation was conducted on 2nd Jan. 2016 by Head of Department Dr. Anuja Johri to make aware and provide information regarding Dissertation to the second year students. vRs. 150 Entrepreneur activity was organized under Ingenuity club of SAMBA on 12th Jan. 2016 where students learned the importance of business idea, its effective implementation, planning and organization. Mr. Santosh Shinde & Ms. Shilpa Kundle coordinated the activity. vBusiness Plan Competition was conducted for MBA- I year students on 26th Feb. 2016 as a part of BIZZ-O-FEST.
