I am writing this in respect of the significant developments pertaining to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) during the month June, 2020.

2. Honhle Home Minister held a high level review meeting, on 01st June, 2020,with officials of NDMA, NDRF, IMD, and Indian Coast Guard on preparedness for dealing with Cyclone brewing in Arabian Sea. Honhle Home Minister also held a Video Conference meeting with Chief Ministers of Gujarat and Maharashtra.

3. Ministry of Home Affairs has deputed an Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) for an on-the-spot assessment of the damage and the admissibility of such supplemental central assistance in the wake of Cyclone ”Amphan” in West Bengal and Odisha and Cyclone “Nisarga” in Maharashtra. IMCT visited the Cyclone “Amphan” affected areas of West Bengal from 4-6 June, 2020 and Odisha from 3-6 June, 2020. Similarly, IMCT visited the Cyclone “Nisarga” affected areas of Maharashtra from 15-20 June, 2020.

4. Honhle Home Minister on 30.6.2020 held a meeting to review the activities of NDMA.

5. MHA has continued to rigorously monitor and take all necessary actions for containment of Covid 19 pandemic. Subsequent to issue of guidelines for Unlock-I, a modified SOP was issued on 01.06.2020, for movement of persons Stranded in India who desire to travel abroad.

6. Further, on 12.06.2020 I wrote to all Chief Secretaries and Administrators of States/UTs regarding clarification of movement during night curfew period. ..contd.p/2.. ::2 ::

7. Hon'ble Home Minister reviewed management of Covid-19 situation in Delhi on 14.06.2020 and thereafter several effective steps have been taken for management of Covid-19 situation in Delhi. These include four times increase in Covid-19 testing, introduction of rapid antigen test, increasing Covid-19 beds to more than 15,000, substantial increase in number of oxygenated beds/ventilators, increase in number of ambulances to 609, conduct of sero-survey, continuous review of containment zones, efficient management of containment zones, setting up of District level and UT level Covid Surveillance Centres etc. This has resulted in overall improvement in Covid-19 situation in Delhi.

8. HM again held a meeting on 18.06.2020, to review the preparations of NCR for management of COVID-19 with the senior officials of NCR.

9. On 25.06.2020 & 26.06.2020, I held a meeting to discuss the issues relating to operationalisation of makeshift 1000 bed hospital through DRDO.

10. Orders extending the lockdown up to 31.07.2020 and new guidelines for phased re-opening (Unlock-2) were issued on 29.06.2020. I also wrote to all Chief Secretaries and Administrators of States/UTs impressing upon them the need for strict compliance and implementation of the guidelines.

11. I reviewed the progress of investigation in North East riot cases and use of technology in Delhi Police in the meeting on 26.06.2020, Directions for improvement in use of technology in Delhi Police were issued during the meeting. Delhi Police has commenced use of ICJS.

12. As on 30.6.2020, MHA has received more than 123 Supreme Court and 260 High Court Cases relating to Covid-19 Pandemic out of which more than 89 Supreme Court and 90 High Court cases have been disposed in favour of Union of India. ..contd.p/3.. ::3 ::

13. During the month of June, 2020 sanction for prosecution for filing the charge sheet against 31 accused persons was accorded in accordance with section 45(1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 and Section 196 of CrPC.

14. 28 Coys of CAPFs were deployed in various States i.e. Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, M.P, Goa and Daman & Diu frame for law and order duties.

15. CCTNS software has been deployed at 15214 out of 16050 Police Stations across the country. Rs. 1827.02 crore has been released till date to States/UTs and Central Agencies. V-wWj A&Cj
