Research Scholar Exhibition

The Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar organised Research Scholar Exhibition from 18th to 24th September, 2013. Works of the following Research Scholars were on display.

This exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Dinanath Pathy, eminent Painter, Art Historian and Writer on 18th September,2013 at 6P.M. in presence of Sri Nirad Mahapatra, eminent film maker, Sri Asim Basu, eminent artist & designer, Prof. Kishore Kumar Basa, former Director, IGMS, Bhopal & Indian Museum, Kolkata, Prof. Jatindra K Nayak, eminent critic and translator. Many artists, art lovers, art critics and art college students were present at the inaugural ceremony. This exhibition was highly appreciated. A catalogue was also published on this occasion.

Ceramic Demonstration Workshop

The Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar organised CERAMIC DEMONSTRATION WORKSHOP for a period of seven days starting from 22nd to 28th November, 2013. Sri Goutam Das, Professor, Department of Ceramic, Kala Bhavan, Visva Bharati, Santiniketan, West Bengal was the Resource Person of this workshop who demonstrated the method and use of materials to the students of different Art Colleges and University. Following students participated in this workshop. They were provided ceramic materials. They were thrilled, because it was their first experience to handle this medium and the Ceramic kiln.

Kala Dhara ( Illustrative lecture series)

The Bhubaneswar Centre organised the following three KALA DHARA programme on 23rd, 24th and 25th November, 2013.

On 23rd November, 2013 Prof. Goutam Das, Department of Ceramic, Kala Bhavan, Visva Bharati, Santiniketan, West Bengal spoke on Ceramic and on this occasion ceramic works of Prof. Goutam Das and other international artists were screened.

On 24th November, 2013 a film THE BAREFOOT PILGRIM- M .F. HUSSAIN was screened.

On 25th November, 2013 a film THE VERY ESSENCE-SAYED RAZA was screened.

Regional Painting Camp- Ranchi

The Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar organised a Regional Painting Camp at MECON COLONY, Ranchi in collaboration with MECON Ltd., Ranchi from 2nd to 8th December, 2013. The following artists participated in this camp.

Film THE BAREFOOT PILGRIM- M.F. HUSSAIN was screened on 2.12.2013 and THE VERY ESSENCE- SAYED RAZA was screened on 7.12.2013 in the camp.

Publication Counter on the occasion of Film Festival on Art & Artists organised by JDCA

The Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar opened a Publication Counter at IDICOL Auditorium from 11th to 13th January, 2014 on the occasion of Film Festival on Art & Artists organised by JDCA, Bhubaneswar.

Artist in Residency Programme

The Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar organised the Artist in Residency programme of Chiba Taiga from Canada from 10th to 14th February, 2014. Sri Chiba Taiga displayed his paintings in Centre’s which was inaugurated by Sri Ramakrishna Vedala, Secretary In-charge of the Akademi on 10th February,2014 at 5.30 P.M. Chiba Taiga also presented his lecture at 6.30 P.M. on the same day.

Collections of Art Works: 2010-2013

The Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar organised an exhibition of Art works in its Collections acquired between 2010-2013 in two phase from 15th to 18th February and 20th to 23rd February,2014. These exhibitions comprised works collected from the camps organised by the Centre. A colour catalogue was published comprising all the art works.

In the first phase Paintings, Graphic, Sculptures were on display from 15tgh to 18th February,2014. This exhibition was inaugurated by Sri Ramakanta Rath, eminent poet on 15th February,2014 at 5.30P.M. and continued till 18th February,2014.

The second phase comprised Digital photographs and tribal bronze sculptures. This exhibition was inaugurated by Sri Abasara Beuria, Former Ambassador on 20th February,2014 at 5.30 P.M. The show continued till 23rd February,2014.

North-East Painting Camp

The Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar organised North-East Painting Camp at Satyanath Bora Hall, Digholi Pukhuri East, Guwahati from 3rd to 7th March, 2014. The following artists participated in the camp.

The Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar organised the Tribal, Folk and Traditional Painting Camp at Camp Office, Patna from 4th to 10th March,2014.

The camp was inaugurated by Shrimati Godawari Dutta, Shilpa Guru and National Awardee Mithila Painting on 4th March, 2014 at 11.30 A.M. The following artists participated in this camp.

Workshop- Painted Heritage of Puri- The Contemporary Context

The Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar organised a workshop Painted Heritage of Puri- The Contemporary Context for a period of seven days starting from 12th to 18th March,2014 at Paura Sadan, Puri. The following traditional painters (chitrakars) participated in this workshop.

This workshop was inaugurated on 13th March, 2014. Prof./Dr. Gangadhar Panda, Vice- Chancellor, Sri Jagannath Sanskruti University, Puri was invited to inaugurate this workshop. On 1st day i.e. on 12th March, 2014 Dr. Dinanath Pathy interacted with the participants on the theme and aim of this workshop. The valedictory function of this workshop was organised on 18th March,2014. Sri Prafulla Mohanti, eminent Painter and Writer (London) was the guest at this function.

Osakothi- Preparatory Workshop for XII Triennale

The Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar organised Osakothi- Reviving and Relocating a unique Tradition with Painting, Poetry, Song, Dance, Trance and Ritual (Preparatory Workshop for XII Triennale India) at the Centre from 23rd to 27th March,2014. This recreated the Osakothi ritual as is being celebrated in villages on the occasion of Dussehra especially in . This workshop was organised for the 1st time by the Centre in the outside of their village. Three Painters along with performers/musicians/singers participated in this workshop. This workshop was inaugurated on 23rd March at 5.30P.M. by Dr. Devi Prasanna Pattanayak, eminent Linguist and writer in presence of Sri Asim Basu, eminent artists and Theatre personality. Dr. Dinanath Pathy, eminent Painter, Writer and Scholar was the Resource Person of this workshop. A catalogue was brought out on this occasion.

Retrospective Exhibition of Dr. Durga Prasad Das

The Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar organised the Retrospective Exhibition of Dr. Durga Prasad Das from 28th March to 3rd April, 2014. This exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Arabinda K. Padhee, I.A.S., Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of Tourism and Culture, Odisha on 28th March, 2014 at 6 P.M. Many eminent personalities, artists, art lovers were

5 present on this occasion. A beautiful catalogue comprising the works of Dr. Das was brought out on this occasion.
