Introducing our New Summer 2012 Training Option

Anoka Area Hockey Association is proud to partner with Lance Pitlick and his company Sweet Hockey offering on and off ice training during the 2012 AAHA summer hockey camp.

About your Instructor - Former NHLer Lance Pitlick A native of Minnesota, Lance Pitlick played High School Hockey for Robbinsdale Cooper and joined the University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey Team in 1986, playing in the NCAA Championship game in 1989. Lance was drafted in 1986 by the hometown Minnesota North Stars and went on to play twelve years professionally, eight of which were in the NHL. Lance played five seasons with the Ottawa Senators and three years with the Florida Panthers. He retired from the NHL in 2002. A gritty stay-at-home, physical defenseman known for his tutelage of younger players, Lance turned his efforts toward coaching and skill development following his retirement and has been heavily involved in youth hockey in Minnesota as a USA Hockey Level 5 Master Instructor.

Training Program will focus on the following: *Stick handling, shooting and agility * Expansion of Reach * Toe Control * Proper top hand position and wrist roll development * Cupping Exercises * Dribbling techniques around the body * Moves - Fakes - Dekes * PUCK TRICKS

When: Every Wednesday in July starting July 11 th – August 1 st . There are four Wednesday sessions during the Summer AAHA hockey camp. The date are scheduled for July 11th, 18th, 25th and August 1 st . Skaters will receive one hour of on ice instruction with Lance, and an additional hour of training by our summer staff in our dryland room and Rapid Shot machine.

Maximum 25 skaters per session. AAHA members get first opportunity.

HS Boys and Girls: 9:00-10:00 am and 10:10-11:20 Off-Ice Stick handling / Shooting Machine

Bantam / U14 Girls : 10:10:-11:10am and 11:20-12:30 Off-Ice Stick handling / Shooting Machine

PeeWee / U12 Girls: 12:20 – 1:20pm and 1:30-2:40 Off-Ice Stick handling / Shooting Machine

Squirts / U10 Girls: 1:30 – 2:30pm and 2:40 – 3:50 Off-Ice Stick handling / Shooting Machine

*Mites / U8 Girls: 2:40 – 3:40pm and 4:00 – 5:10 Off-Ice Stick handling / Shooting Machine

*Mites / U8 girls if not enough interest will be placed with Squirts/U10 Girls. Last session will be added only if participation with this level is needed. Please get your name in to hold your spot.

Cost: This is an optional clinic for those that want to improve their skills. The cost is $90.

Must be paid in full by May 31st to secure your spot.
