* His Love Can Never Fail Lyrics by: E.S. Hall. Music by: Christopher Miner. ©2004 Christopher Miner Music.

1. I do not ask to see the way 2. And if my feet would go astray, My feet should have to tread; They cannot, for I know But only that my soul may feed That Jesus guides my falt'ring steps, Upon the living Bread. As joyfully I go. 'Tis better far that I should walk And though I may not see His face, By faith close to His side; My faith is strong and clear, I may not know the way I go, That in each hour of sore distress But oh, I know my Guide. My Savior will be near.

CHORUS CHORUS His love can never fail; His love can never fail. 3. I will not fear, though darkness come Abroad o'er all the land, My soul is satisfied to know If I may only feel the touch His love can never fail. Of His own loving hand. And though I tremble when I think How weak I am, and frail, My soul is satisfied to know His love can never fail. 3 * Confession of Sin Worship Leader: Almighty God, we have sinned against you and offended you.

People: And yet, as we acknowledge our sins and offenses, we also acknowledge that you are a merciful God, and a loving Father to all who turn to you.

Worship Leader: And so we humbly ask you, for the sake of Christ your Son, to show us mercy, and to forgive all our offenses.

People: By your Spirit, take possession of our hearts, so that the actions of our lives, the words of our mouths, and the smallest thoughts of our minds may be guided and governed by you.

Worship Leader: To Jesus Christ, our Lord, be all glory and honor, now and forever. Amen.

Adapted from John Knox’s liturgy of 1560

SILENT CONFESSION OF SIN Worship Leader: Lift up your heads, you who have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of your trespasses, and hear these words of grace.

Words of Grace For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD," and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.

Psalm 32:3-5

4 * Anchor Our Hearts Words and music by Russ Mohr & Dustin Burggraaf From The Journey Collective Songs From The Book of Ephesians: Volume 2 1. Gracious God above, 5. Against You alone have we sinned, In Your boundless love, O Lord; For the sake of Jesus, Your Son, All our trespasses, please forgive. Show us mercy, Lord; grace we can't afford, God, we look to You, for Your Word is true; For our sin has left us undone. In Your ways, our hearts You have set.

2. And so we come, restless within, 6. For You have come, poured out Your life; Tossed by the waves, blown by the wind. We're washed in Your Word, Now here we are, lost in our sin, You've called us Your bride. Drifting so far, from where we began Now we are Yours, forgiven and free; (Where we began). We are Your church, You are our King (you are our King). 3. In our pain and grief, in our unbelief, In our sorrow, loss, and despair, BRIDGE In our pride and fall, Hallelujah, hallelujah! Though we're weak and small, We stand amazed, And we follow the world's empty cares. In the light of Your grace. (x 4)

4. Lord, now we come, oft we have strayed, But by the blood, mercy remains. Lord, lead us back, into Your arms; When faith we lack, anchor our hearts (Anchor our hearts).

OFFERING PRAYER, PASTORAL PRAYER, AND THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power 5 and the glory forever. Amen. When God Throws You a Curveball Psalm 25 Summer Psalms and Proverbs

1 To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul. 2 O my God, in you I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me. 3 Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame; they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.

4 Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths. 5 Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.

6 Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. 7 Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O LORD!

8 Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in the way. 9 He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way. 10 All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

11 For your name's sake, O LORD, pardon my guilt, for it is great. 12 Who is the man who fears the LORD? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose. 13 His soul shall abide in well-being, and his offspring shall inherit the land. 14 The friendship of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant. 15 My eyes are ever toward the LORD, for he will pluck my feet out of the net. 6 When God Throws You a Curveball Psalm 25 Summer Psalms and Proverbs

16 Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. 17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses. 18 Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins.

19 Consider how many are my foes, and with what violent hatred they hate me. 20 Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me! Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. 21 May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you.

22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
