Twenty years ago tonight, we gathered at Grosse Pointe North's gymnasium for our High School Graduation. At that time, a First Class letter cost 6 cents, a loaf of bread was 23 cents, a gallon of leaded premium gas cost 39 cents, and a new Chevrolet Impala cost $2,820. Since that night, a lot has changed! We have worked.more than nine months to prepare for this event. Out of a class of 623, we were able to locate 510 classmates and biographical forms were returned by 343 people. Entries were not edited unless the information was illegible or inappropriate. Although we have done our best to make this memory book an epic you will enjoy, we apologize in advance if we overlooked information or were unable to correct errors As you read through the Best Memories Section, we hope you will remember many forgotten good times from the past. Tonight you will have a chance to rekindle old friendships and perhaps discover some new friends, just as we committee members have done. Hopefully, you will also reestablish contact with classmates who were unable to attend tonight's festivities. Our intention was to plan a wonderful evening for everyone. We would like to acknowledge with great appreciation the tremendous effort given by Martha Schmelz McGee, Beverly Messer Kerwin, and John Duncan. The memory book and many other arrangements would never have been successful without their valuable contributions. Have a wonderful evening and with a little luck we'll see you again at our next reunion.
