To take his spot on the roster, the A’s recalled infielder Andy Parrino from Triple-A Sacramento. Sizemore was 1 for 6 with a double in two games with the A’s before the injury. This is his second career stint on the disabled list as he missed the entire 2012 season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during spring training. Parrino was batting .174 with a double and RBI in six games with Sacramento, all at shortstop. He batted .368 with one home run and nine RBI in 26 games with the A’s this spring before he was optioned to Sacramento March 30. The 27-year-old switch-hitter appeared in nine games in left field, eight at third base, eight at shortstop, two at second base and one in right field during Spring Training.
