Internationally acclaimed Hong Kong chanteuse Frances Yip to perform at Jupiters Hotel & Casino

Legendary Hong Kong singer and actress, Frances Yip, will be performing on the Gold Coast for one night only, exclusively at Jupiters Hotel & Casino on Friday February 27.

With more than 80 albums under her belt, and having performed in more than 30 countries across five continents, Frances is one of Asia’s most endearing and enduring entertainers.

Frances Yip said her concert at Jupiters Theatre will include a selection of her greatest hits including Shanghai Beach, the theme song of classic 1980s drama The Bund which catapulted her to international stardom.

“With this concert, I will take fans back to when they first knew me and will also perform some of my new songs,” she said.

“I am very excited about performing on the Gold Coast for the very first time.”

Throughout Frances’ 45 years in the industry, she has performed on television, and in feature films, concerts and cabarets. Her linguistic skills, with unique interpretations of lyrics in English, Cantonese and Mandarin have led to a fan base across a wide range of cultures and countries.

She has worked with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, the Macau Chinese Orchestra, the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, and the Youth Orchestra from the Nan yang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore Symphony Orchestra and Tamasat University Philharmonic Orchestra in Bangkok as well as large orchestras in .

Frances also achieved worldwide recognition when she was selected by the Hong Kong Government to be a co-presenter at the British Farewell Ceremony to mark the transfer of sovereignty in Hong Kong in 1997. The event was watched by a television audience estimated at 120 million in more than 80 countries.
