Welcome The International Federation for Peace & Sustainable Development is a non-profit 501 (c)3 organization in consultative status with UN-ECOSOC, is associated with UN-DPI, UNDPA and accredited with UNCTAD. We have chapter representation in 17 countries across 5 continents. At IFPSD, we are deeply committed to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which necessitates the empowerment and inclusion of youth in the development plan, and we hold high-level events to celebrate the International Youth Day annually. Today's event aims to take a step forward towards the realization of sustainable peace, stability, human rights and effective governance, with the collective voice of youth better heard. WELCOME REMARKS

RALPH KADER CEO - IFPSD Ralph is a twenty two year veteran of the United Nations. His tenure has included serving on diplomatic missions around the world as well as working on various peace initiatives with the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations. He is currently CEO of the International Federation for Peace and Sustainable Development.

AMBASSADORS H.E. MS. FATIMA KYARI MOHAMMED PERMANENT OBSERVER OF THE AFRICAN UNION TO THE UN Prior to her appointment, Her Excellency was a Senior Special Adviser to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission, where her work mainly focused on peace and security, regional integration and organizational development. During her illustrious career Her Excellency worked as an Executive Director at West Africa Conflict and Security Consulting.

H.E. MR. JORGE SKINNER-KLEE ARENALES PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF GUATEMALA TO THE UN Prior to his latest appointment, His Excellency Mr. Skinner-Klee served as Guatemala’s Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg, and Chief of Mission to the European Union from 2012. Previously, His Excellency was the country’s Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States and Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs in 2004.

H.E. MR. SACHA SERGIO LLORENTY SOLIZ PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF BOLIVIA TO THE UNITED NATIONS Prior to his appointment, His Excellency Mr. Llorenty was Minister for Government from 2010, having served as Deputy Minister for Coordination with Social Movements and Civil Society between 2007 and 2010. Further, Mr. Llorenty has served as President of the Permanent Assembly of Human Rights. Also, he was Dean of the Faculty of Social and Humanistic Sciences at the University of Aquino in Bolivia.

H.E. MR. BAKHTIYOR IBRAGIMOV PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF UZBEKISTAN TO THE UN Until his latest appointment, His Excellency Mr. Ibragimov was Deputy Chief of Mission at his country’s Embassy in Seoul, Republic of Korea, holding the rank of Political Counsellor. Between 2009 and 2011, he was the Director, United States and Americas Affairs Department, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. H.E. MR. LAZAROUS KAPAMBWE PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF ZAMBIA TO THE UNITED NATIONS His Excellency Lazarous Kapambwe was elected as the sixty-seventh President of the Economic and Social Council in 2011. Since 2007, Ambassador Kapambwe has served as the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Zambia to the United Nations in New York. Prior to the United Nations, he served as Zambia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and the African Union.

MODERATOR SALLY KADER PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER - IFPSD Activist, Philanthropist, Humanitarian Salwa (“Sally”) Kader is the Founder and President of the International Federation for Peace & Sustainable Development, a bipartisan, non-profit and non-governmental organization, which has chapters in 17 countries on 5 continents around the world. Kader is a world-renowned peace activist who has been recognized by world leaders and organizations for her contributions towards peace.

YOUTH SPEAKERS AMELIA SAWALICH Amelia Sawalich is a compassionate, global-minded humanitarian. The high school junior believes leadership is most effective when it highlights individual strengths and connects people through philanthropic endeavors. Amelia considers herself fortunate to learn from some of the world’s best philanthropic and business leaders. She volunteers with the Starkey Hearing Foundation mission team to give the world the gift of hearing. This mission has already taken Amelia to over 15 countries. She plans to study Philanthropy / Non- Profit business in college and continue serving and growing as a leader.

MALIKA DJALALOVA Malika was born in Uzbekistan in 1991. She completed middle and high school in the USA, and continued her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Audit at the Tashkent State University of Economics in Uzbekistan. She went on to complete a Masters in Development Policy at the Korean Development Institute School of Public Policy and Management. Later, Malika wrote her thesis on Child Labor and pursued a career in education. She worked as the Deputy General Manager and a Consultant. Currently, Malika is fulfilling her duties as an Advisor with UNWTO.

JACK McCONNELL Jack was born in with hearing loss and has been wearing hearing aids since he was 6 weeks old. When he was in 5th grade, he started a non-profit foundation called 20/20 with has been able to financially support many children that could not afford hearing care. In partnership with The Starkey Hearing Foundation, Jack has helped hundreds of people get hearing aids on 11 missions in six countries. Jack helped to pass a law in his home state requiring private insurance to cover the cost of hearing care. Jack intends to pursue a college degree in engineering in order to make hearing devices and wearables more affordable. PHILLIP DENG

Mr. Deng has been involved with community activities from a young age. He has been serving his fellow South Sudanese in the state of Pennsylvania since the arrival of “The ”. He served two years as the President of South Sudanese living in the state of Pennsylvania. Mr. Deng earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration and serves many leadership roles in the field of Human Services and non- Governmental Agencies. Mr. Deng is always determined to go extra when it comes to helping people. He is the founder and President of the Christian Agency for Peace and Development (CAPaD). He works with the United Nations family agencies includes UNHCR in Uganda.

MUSICAL GUESTS LI-JUNG CHIEN VIOLA Li-Jung Chien, the violist, was born in Taiwan. She began her music journey with piano and violin when she was six years old. At the age of twelve, she started playing viola. Chien has a bachelor's in music in Fu Jen Catholic University and is at Mannes School of Music for her Master’s. Chien has had many performance experiences, she has been a visiting artist at Shanghai Music School and has also performed with Mannes orchestra in Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall.

LILY WEI YE VIOLIN Lily Wei Ye was born in Arizona, started playing both piano and violin at young age. Ye graduated with her bachelors at the Mannes College of Music. She’s currently studying with Isaac Malkin pursuing a Dual Masters Degree in Violin Performance and Violin Education at Manhattan School of Music and Columbia University’s Teacher College. She has played in the Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall with the Mannes Orchestra.
