From the Den

I would like to thank all of you who were able to come and meet with teachers during Parent/Teacher Conference Week. We conducted nearly 1,700 conferences during our conference times even while battling two events in the Apple Bowl and a third taking up most of our parking lot on Wednesday morning. Thank you to all who provided feedback to help us get better or maintain the things you like. On a final note, if you were not able to fill out the Title 1 paper in your packet while you were here during conferences, please do so and return with your child. If you were not able to attend conferences, these forms were mailed home the week before Thanksgiving, so please return the forms by next Friday, December 7.

By now you should have received your child’s first quarter progress report. If you have not seen it, please give us a call so we can get that to you. If you would like to see your child’s progress live, you may sign up for a Skyward account to allow you family access. This will allow you access to your child’s Skyward information and will be useful as the kids move to the high school as well. They also use Skyward for their grades. Forms are available in the school office to set up your account or you may call to receive access. The only requirement when you fill out the form in the office is to present your driver’s license to one of the secretaries in the office for verification and you will receive an email within a few days when your account is ready to go.

As we approach the Winter Break, we have several opportunities for you to come and see our students participate in a variety of activities. Please take a few minutes out of your busy schedule to support the kids this month. Our activity schedule is listed below: December 3 - Basketball (8th at Pioneer) December 5 - Basketball (8th at Pioneer) December 5 - Hour of Code (Families Welcome) December 6 - School Dance (Free to those who sold items during our ASB Fundraiser, or $10 for those who didn’t sell items.) December 11 - Basketball (6th grade Jamboree) December 12 - Choir and Mariachi Concert at 6:30 PM (Pioneer Cafeteria) December 12 - Band/Orchestra Concert at 7:00 PM (Gym)

Our last school day before Winter Break is December 14. This will be a normal school day with a 3:00 PM dismissal. We return on Wednesday, December 2, at our normal start time of 8:15 AM. Enjoy the time with your family this holiday season and we will see you back next year.

Happy Holidays,

Rob Cline

WINTER CLOSURES AND DELAYS As you know, winter is here. It is rare that school is canceled or that school even runs on a delayed schedule. However, it does happen occasionally. WHEN IT SNOWS, THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS LISTEN TO THE RADIO. The Wenatchee School District will advise radio stations of any school closures or delays. If you do not hear an announcement on the radio, you can assume that school is running on a regular schedule. Pioneer will also make a pre-recorded phone call to all households to advise of a closure or delay. If there is a snow delay, then there are no before-school activities. If you have questions, you can contact our school office at 663-7171.
