Real Madrid CF assured themselves of finishing as Group B winners with a fourth win in five games on matchday five and will now be looking to complete their fixtures with a flourish at eliminated FC København. • København are in fourth place but can qualify for the UEFA Europa League with victory. A draw would also secure third place should Galatasaray lose at home to Juventus. • The matchday two fixture between the teams ended in a 4-0 Madrid win, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ángel Di María both scoring twice. • København are unbeaten at home in this season's group stage, drawing 1-1 with Juventus on matchday one before beating Galatasaray 1-0. A 3-1 loss at Juventus on matchday five ended their hopes of reaching the round of 16. • Madrid started with a 6-1 win at Galatasaray, Ronaldo firing a second-half hat-trick, and drew 2-2 in Turin in their other away game, Ronaldo making it eight goals in four games to equal the record number of goals in a UEFA Champions League group stage. • A 4-1 home win against Galatasaray last time out made certain of first place for Madrid. Previous meetings • The 2 October meeting was the first between the teams and the first time Madrid had faced Danish opposition since 1994/95. • The UEFA Cup third round tie against Odense BK proved something of a surprise with the Spanish giants winning the away leg 3-2 before going down 2-0 at home. Only one of their four other games in Denmark had failed to produce a victory: the 1967/68 European Champion Clubs' Cup second round against Hvidovre ended 2-2 with Madrid winning 4-1 in the return. • Madrid's record against Danish sides is W9 D1 L1. • In nine games against Spanish sides København have lost five and drawn four; at home their results are D2 L2. The last of those assignments came in their most recent UEFA Champions League campaign, in 2010/11. Paired with Barcelona in the group stage, they drew 1-1 at home after losing 2-0 away. Match background • In their eighth successive European group stage, København – exempt from the qualifying rounds for the first time – were last in the UEFA Champions League in 2010/11 when they finished second in their group behind FC Barcelona, collecting seven points from their three home games. In the round of 16 they lost 2-0 at home to Chelsea FC, drawing 0-0 in the return. • København are unbeaten at home in the group stage, recording five wins and three draws to date. • Liga runners-up in 2012/13, Madrid have scored in all their last 20 UEFA Champions League away fixtures, losing only four. Last season they were Group D runners-up behind Borussia Dortmund. They won away at AFC Ajax 4-1, drew 1-1 at Manchester City FC and lost 2-1 in Dortmund. They also triumphed 2-1 at Manchester United FC in the round of 16 but lost 3-2 at Galatasaray AŞ in the quarter-final second leg, although they still went through having triumphed 3-0 at home. • They were not so fortunate in the semi-final, a 4-1 loss in Dortmund leading to a 4-3 aggregate defeat and a third successive last-four loss. Team ties • During his first spell as København coach, Ståle Solbakken oversaw four games against Spanish opposition. His record against Valencia CF, Barcelona and Club Atlético de Madrid reads W0 D2 L2. • Xabi Alonso scored twice in Spain's 3-0 friendly victory against Denmark at Parken on 20 August 2008. Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Lars Jacobsen all featured. • Ronaldo scored in both Portugal's UEFA EURO 2012 qualifiers against Denmark. He earned a 3-1 win in Porto on 8 October 2010 – a game which also featured Pepe, Fábio Coentrão and Jacobsen – before a 2-1 loss at the Parken Stadium 12 months later. • Kris Stadsgaard played for Málaga CF between 2010 and 2012, making 25 appearances and scoring his only goal in a 4-1 home defeat by Madrid on 16 October 2010.

4 FC København - Real Madrid CF Tuesday 10 December 2013 - 20.45CET (20.45 local time) Match press kit Telia Parken, Copenhagen Head coach Ståle Solbakken Date of birth: 27 February 1968 Nationality: Norwegian Playing career: Grue IL, Ham-Kam Fotball, Lillestrøm SK, Wimbledon FC, Aalborg BK, FC København Coaching career: Ham-Kam Fotball, FC København (twice), 1. FC Köln, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC • Discovered at lower-league Grue, Solbakken represented Ham-Kam but made his mark as one of Norway's finest midfielders at Lillestrøm between 1994 and 1997, earning the first of his 58 caps for Norway before an ill-starred move to English side Wimbledon. • A five-month spell ended with a switch to Denmark's AaB in 1998, where he got his career back on track, starring in the 1998/99 title success. He represented Norway at the 1998 FIFA World Cup and UEFA EURO 2000 prior to joining København for 2000/01. • His København playing career lasted just 14 league games before Solbakken suffered a heart attack in training on 13 March 2001; he was revived in an ambulance 12 minutes later. • With a pacemaker fitted he went into coaching with Ham-Kam before unexpectedly being named as Hans Backe's successor at København in 2005 by club chairman Flemming Østergaard, who has Solbakken's playing shirt hanging in his office. • The first of five title successes in his first season vindicated the decision, Solbakken also leading the club to the 2006/07 and 2010/11 UEFA Champions League group stage – reaching the round of 16 in the latter campaign – and the 2008/09 . After short, unsuccessful spells at Köln and Wolves, returned to København in August 2013 following Ariël Jacobs' dismissal. Carlo Ancelotti Date of birth: 10 June 1959 Nationality: Italian Playing career: Parma FC, AS Roma, AC Milan Coaching career: AC Reggiana, Parma FC, Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea FC, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid CF • One of only six people to have lifted the European Champion Clubs' Cup as both a player and coach. A combative midfielder, he helped Roma win the 1983 title and four Italian Cups before joining Milan in 1986 where he added two more league championships, as well as back-to-back European Cup triumphs in 1989 and 1990. • Began coaching in 1995 with a year at Reggiana, earning them promotion from Serie B, before two seasons at Parma. Replaced Marcello Lippi at Juventus in February 1999 and returned to San Siro as coach of Milan in 2001. • During eight seasons in charge, won the UEFA Champions League in 2003 and 2007, but lost the 2005 final on penalties to Liverpool FC after leading 3-0. Milan also won a Serie A title, a Coppa Italia and the 2007 FIFA Club World Cup. • Resigned on 31 May 2009 and was named as Chelsea's new manager the following day. His first season in London ended with the club winning the league and cup double for the first time. Dismissed at the end of his second campaign, Ancelotti took charge of Paris in December 2011. • In his one full season in the French capital, 2012/13, Ancelotti steered Paris to their first Ligue 1 title in 19 years before leaving to take over at Madrid on a three-year contract, winning the Copa del Rey in his first season.
