The patch is designed by local indigenous artist Doug LaFortune and intended to reflect the role the Maritime Coastal Defence Vessel plays in the Fleet and to also pay tribute to First Nations People. The two dominant features in the patch - a wolf and the moon - are important elements in traditional Coast Salish teachings.
