FIVB Volley All Festivals took place in Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan in May and June as the annual development project continues to increase knowledge of the game around the world.

Sri Lanka held its event on May 31 and June 1, with 300 children taking part.

The event was opened by Dilan Perera, MP, the president of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation and minister of Foreign Em- ployment Promotion and Welfare.

CAVB ratifies Continental Cup structure

The African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) Board of Administration approved a new system for the zonal phase of the Beach Volleyball Continental Cup at its June meeting in Cairo, Egypt.

The competition serves as a qualifying event for the 2012 with eight teams advancing from its zonal phase to next year’s Continental Cup fi- nals, the winners of which will progress directly to the Olympics in .

Thousands enjoy mini-volleyball festival in Athens
