We've said it before, but research undertaken here last week led us back down a circular primrose path of government giving money to private groups to be used for studies. And then, If the lronhorse Railroad stUdy is any example, the results of those expensive studies are basically ignored, while fundralsing efforts go forward. . Using the lronhorse Railroad study as an example, the state' paid $40,000, the village contributed $4,900 and Economic Development Corporation of Lincoln County "loaned" $8,000 to spend more than $50,000 to learn if the $200 million railroad would be feasible.
