CAN I GO THROUGH RECRUITMENT IF I AM A DISTANT LEARNER OR COMMUTER? Yes! All full-time undergraduate students who have completed at least one semester of college and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 are encouraged and welcome to participate.

WILL SORORITY MEMBERSHIP IMPACT MY ACADEMICS? Sororities recognize academics as a top priority and academics are one of the things sororities do best. Each sorority has a scholarship program to celebrate academic achievement, as well as support members who are struggling academically.

WILL JOINING A SORORITY CONSUME ALL MY TIME? Not at all. Joining a sorority can be a time commitment, but each chapter should provide new members with clear expectations regarding the commitment at the beginning of the new member education period and each subsequent semester.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO BE A SORORITY MEMBER? Dues vary. Some chapters require a flat fee that covers almost all or all membership activities. Others may have a lower initial cost, but members pay for additional items out of pocket. Most chapters offer payment plans so dues can be paid over the course of the semester. The first semester typically costs the most and the price will decline for subsequent semesters.

GIVEN THAT RECRUITMENT IS VIRTUAL, WHAT WILL THE SORORITY EXPERIENCE LOOK LIKE AFTER RECRUITMENT?

Each chapter responds differently to providing a comprehensive membership experience. All are expected to abide by the COVID Greek Life Expectations. In some phases, in-person activities with distancing and masking are permitted. Chapters have and continue to do their best to keep the integrity of sorority experience intact. Our organizations are rooted in forming a community around sisterhood. Connections and friendships form whether meeting on Zoom or in person.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF JOINING A SORORITY?
