2018 FEB ETSU Alumni Now Your Alumni Association Engage News Events Give Today Marketplace Talkin' Hardball featuring John Smoltz set for March 6th The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Global Sport Leadership Doctoral program announced Tuesday that they will partner to host Talkin’ Hardball on March 6th at the Johnson City Country Club. 2015 National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee and Atlanta Braves pitching great John Smoltz will be the featured speaker at the event, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. for a social hour/dinner, followed by the program beginning at 7:30. Smoltz will also host a free youth baseball clinic sponsored by Ballad Health at Thomas Stadium from 5 to 6 p.m. that same day. Tickets for the event may be purchased by visiting the ticket link at ETSUBucs.com or by calling 423-439-3878. Three levels of tickets will be available, with general admission seats for $50 each, admission and “Extra Innings” post-event gathering access for $125, and sponsored tables for eight, including a pre-event reception for $2,000. The dinner will feature ballpark fare and unlimited beer. ETSU head coach Joe Pennucci said it will be exciting for the entire community to hear from a baseball legend like Smoltz. Liebe Rodelfans! Mit Spannung blicken wir auf das Weltcupfinale im Naturbahnrodeln 2019: Wer wird sich in diesem Jahr zum weltbesten Na- turbahnrodler und zur weltbesten Naturbahnrodlerin küren? Die bisherige Saison war wieder eine äußerst spannende, diesmal ging es für die Rodlerinnen und Rodler sogar nach Moskau und Vatra Dornei in Rumänien. Es freut mich deshalb umso mehr, dass das Finale in den nächsten Tagen hier im Ötztal ausgetragen wird. Die Tiroler Natur bietet uns so vieles, unter anderem perfekte Bedingungen für Winter- und Sommersportevents auf höchstem Niveau. Der Titelverteidiger bei den Herren kennt diese Strecke wie seine Westentasche – der Lauf von Thomas Kammerlander vom SV Umhausen wird sicher eines der High- lights dieses Weltcupfinales. Ich freue mich, dass die Investition in die Rodelbahn hier im Ötztal vor fast 20 Jahren Früchte trägt und zum Ansehen Tirols als Sportdestination beiträgt. Mit Freude übernehme ich den Ehrenschutz für diese Veranstaltung und bedanke mich bei den Organisatorinnen und Organi- satoren für ihren unermüdlichen Einsatz, ohne den Veranstaltungen wie diese nicht möglich wären! Opening and Greeting The host and President of the Slovakian Luge, Mr. Josef Skvarek, warmly welcomes the participants of the 66th FIL Congress and wishes a successful outcome. Vice President Zdenko Kriz greets everyone in the name of the Slovakian National Olympic Committee FIL President Josef Fendt himself also very warmly welcomes the Congress participants, thanks the Slovakian FIL President, as well as the Vice President of the Slovakian NOC for their friendly greeting and officially opens the 66th FIL Congress, which is being held in Slovakia for the 2nd time since the founding of the FIL. Special words of greeting are directed to Mr. Hartmut Kardaetz, the only personally present honorary FIL member, the newly elected or re-elected national presidents, Irina Gladkikh (head of winter sports in the sports department of the IOC), the representatives of the OC of the Winter Olympics 2022 in Beijing/CHN, the athletes’ representatives, the representatives from the agencies RGS and Infront, the event organizers present, as well as guests and media representatives. President J. The challenge facing a biathlete is being able to shoot accurately after an enduring ski workout. The U.S. continues to improve in biathlon but this sport belongs to the European countries like Sweden, Norway, France, Germany and Finland.
