The Vacancy in See Commiee is elected by members of Diocesan Synod, but only meets when there is a vacancy in the See of Newcastle, i.e. should the post of Bishop of Newcastle become vacant. Those elected will serve unl the next year of Diocesan Synod elecons, i.e. 31st December 2021.

COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP The Suffragan Bishop, the Dean, the Archdeacons, the clergy and laity who represent the diocese on the General Synod, the Chairs of the Houses of Clergy and Laity of the Diocesan Synod plus eight elected members and up to four members nominated by Bishop’s Council.
