PRESS RELEASE Em setembro, a banda norte-americana, liderada pelo vocalista Ross Lynch, traz a Portugal a tour “Sometime Last Night Tour”, com dois concertos agendados para os dias 10 e 11, em Lisboa e no Porto. Antes, no dia 9, a partir das 18h00, os R5 apresentam-se na Worten do Centro Comercial Vasco da Gama para uma sessão de autógrafos. No âmbito da apresentação do álbum ‘Sometime Last Night”, que será editado a 4 de setembro, e da tournée que dá pelo mesmo nome, os R5 vão passar por Portugal para dois concertos, para delícia dos milhares de fãs da banda. Os fãs portugueses terão ainda a oportunidade de desfrutar de um contacto mais próximo com os seus ídolos, uma vez que, no dia 9 de setembro (quarta-feira), a partir das 18h00, a banda tem agendada uma sessão de autógrafos, na loja Worten do Vasco da Gama. A banda americana, formada, em 2009, pelos irmãos Ross, Riker, Rocky, Rydel Lynch e pelo amigo Ellington Ratliff, ganhou notoriedade pela participação de Riker na série televisiva “Glee” e pelo papel de protagonista de Ross Lynch, na série de sucesso da Disney ‘Austin & Ally’. O quinteto estreou-se em disco, em 2010, com o EP “Ready Set Rock”, e, em 2013, lançou o EP “Loud”, que antecedeu o lançamento de “Louder”, com mais de 150 mil cópias vendidas em todo o mundo e que deu azo à “Louder World Tour”. Foi este tour que trouxe, em 2014, os R5 a Portugal e também à Worten do Colombo, para uma sessão de autógrafos, na altura, bastante concorrida e divertida. Abstract approved:_____________________________________________________ Ryann Reynolds-McIlnay The rise of digital streaming has largely impacted the way the average listener consumes music. Consequentially, while the role of album art has evolved to meet the changes in music technology, it is hard to measure the effect of digital streaming on modern album art. This research seeks to determine whether or not graphic design still plays a role in marketing information about the music, such as its genre, to the consumer. It does so through two studies: 1. A computer visual analysis that measures color dominance of an image, and 2. A mixed-design lab experiment with volunteer participants who attempt to assess the genre of a given album. Findings from the first study show that color scheme models created from album samples cannot be used to predict the genre of an album. Further findings from the second theory show that consumers pay a significant amount of attention to album covers, enough to be able to correctly assess the genre of an album most of the time.
