Radio No. Date Items 1. 2, 25 November PAU produced the “Legislative Council Kowloon West By-election Forum” (立法會九西補選論壇) in early November. Live coverage of the election was also provided on the election date in late November. 2. 3, 11, 18-24 The debut “CIBS Awards Presentation Ceremony” was arranged in early November. Awards in four categories November were presented including Top 10 Radio Programmes, Best Radio Drama, Best Radio Programme Presenter and Best Signature Tune. A promotional campaign “CIBS Outreach @ Asian Ethnic Cultural Performances” (亞裔藝采) was held at Hong Kong Cultural Center Piazza in mid-November. The “CIBS Express” was also toured around seven districts to reach the public in late November. 3. 6 November / To commemorate 90 Years of Broadcasting in Hong Kong, an exhibition has taken place at the Hong Kong Heritage 1, 2, 15, 24 Museum from November for 3 months. The opening ceremony “光影流聲-香港公共廣播 90 年展覽開幕禮” was December held in early November to kick off the campaign. Four educational programmes will be arranged during the / January 2019 exhibition period. In early December, a concert saluting to Uncle Ray and “Young Music Makers Concert” will be produced by R2 and R4 respectively, followed by the launch of the mobile studio in mid-December and R1’s seminar in January 2019. R4 will organize “Christmas Concert in the Park 2018 – Best of Big Band!” at Kowloon Park Plaza in late December as the finale event of the campaign.

PROPOSAL 2. DGIP, with the support of the Secretary for Commerce and Industry, proposes to create a supernumerary post of Administrative Officer Staff Grade C (AOSGC) (D2) in InvestHK from 1 March 2001 to 31 March 2003. /JUSTIFICATION ..... EC(2000-01)27 Page 2 JUSTIFICATION The role and programme of InvestHK 3. InvestHK is a new department established on 1 July 2000 following the reorganisation of the trade and industry group of departments to promote inward investment. Over the past few months, InvestHK has embarked on an extensive public relations programme to put across the message that Hong Kong remains a vibrant business centre three and a half years after the transition. Though Hong Kong has become part of China, it retains its distinct identity, with a free market economy and a level playing field. Hong Kong continues to welcome foreign investors on a completely non-discriminatory basis, and has established the new department to bring increased focus to our efforts to attract and retain multi- national corporations.

Transport Research Office Legislative Council Secretariat ISSH07/17-18 MTR train service performance Figure 1 – Usage of public transport in Hong Kong Highlights (a) Usage rate among selected cities (b) Usage by modes Public transport is the most dominant mode of commuting in Hong Kong, and its usage rate has been among the highest for major 12.6 million cities in the world (Figure 1a). In 2016, the passenger trips * total number of daily public transport per day in 2016 passenger trips in Hong Kong exceeded 12 million. MTR was the most heavily used mode of public transport, carrying over five million passengers and accounting for Public light buses Taxis Others (incl. trams, ferries, residents' 41% of all trips made on public transport services and MTR buses.) each day (Figure 1b). Note: (*) Figures may not add up to the total due to rounding. Being the busiest public transport mode, MTR has experienced a steady increase in its Figure 2 – Number of average daily public transport daily patronage over the past decade passenger trips by selected modes, 2007-2016 (Figure 2). This contrasted with the (million) stagnant or negative growth in the daily MTR patronage of other commonly used public Franchised buses transport modes in Hong Kong. Against the above, MTR has been the Public light buses backbone of public transport system in Hong Kong, comprising 11 heavy rail lines and 12 Light Rail routes.
