MEIJER GARDENS’ 2013 OUTDOOR SUMMER CONCERT SERIES FEATURES LARGEST LINEUP TO DATE

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., — April 11, 2013 — Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is pleased to announce the 11th annual Outdoor Summer Concert Series with an eclectic 30-show lineup, the largest to date. This lineup reflects a strong commitment to bring high quality, talented and broadly diverse artists to Meijer Gardens.

The 1,900-seat amphitheater is one of the most unique and intimate venues in Michigan.

On April 27, Meijer Gardens’ Grand Room will open at 7 a.m. for members who would like to begin lining up to buy tickets at 9 a.m. Visitors can eat breakfast in Taste of the Gardens Café or purchase coffee and a quick bite to eat while waiting in line. The Gift Shop will also be open, selling low-rise concert chairs with the Meijer Gardens logo.

Season Ticket Sponsorships Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park will again offer season ticket sponsorships. Sponsorships include two tickets to every concert in the East and West Terraces, snacks and beverages and reserved parking passes. About Meijer Gardens’ Amphitheater

The 1900-seat amphitheater is general admission. Concertgoers are welcome to bring a blanket or low-rise chair to sit on. Low- rise chairs are defined as 12” maximum from ground to front of seat bottom and 31” maximum to top of chair back in highest position. These rules are strictly enforced. No other chairs will be permitted in the venue. A limited number of standard-height chairs will be available to rent for $5 (located in designated area-may not be moved) on a first-come, first-served basis. All concerts are rain or shine-weather delays possible. A selection of sandwiches, snacks, water, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are available at the concessions counter. All beverages purchased here must be consumed inside the amphitheater gates. Concertgoers are also welcome to bring their own food, bottled water and non-alcoholic beverages. No glass or refillable containers are allowed. All beverages must be in their original sealed containers; any liquids in unsealed containers must be discarded at the gate before entering.
