Representative Roger Marshall, MD (R-KS, 1st District) *In second term as US Representative

Race Outcome: Marshall was first elected to the US House of Representatives in 2016. He defeated the previous incumbent, Tim Huelskamp in the Republican primary and defeated Independent Alan LaPolice with 65% of the vote in the general. In the 2018 midterm cycle, Marshall defeated LaPolice again, receiving 68% of the vote. Political Platform: Marshall currently serves on the Committee on Agriculture, Small Business Committee, and the Committee on Science, Space and Technology. He also serves on the Republican Study Committee, on which he serves as the Chairman of the Health Care Task Force. Roger officially announced his run for the US open Senate seat in KS this quarter. Professional: After graduating from medical school, Marshall completed his residency in St. Petersburg, Florida. After completing his residency, specializing in obstetrics, Marshall returned to his home state of to start a medical practice. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 7 years, where he helped train a mobile hospital support unit and rose to the rank of Captain. Marshall worked as an obstetrician in Kansas for over 25 years, as an owner of a physician-owned hospital, before selling his shares when he ran for Congress.
