MIKE WIRKOWSKI

Michael J. Wirkowski is the Vice President of Major Projects for . He has over 40 years of domestic and international experience with several major oil companies.

Wirkowski began his career in the oil industry with Exxon in 1977 at the in Linden, New Jersey. In 1986, he was named U.S. Manager and Coordinator of Refined Products and transferred to Exxon USA’s headquarters in Houston. In 1989, he became Manager of Transportation Logistics and Business Planning, transferring to Exxon International’s headquarters in Florham Park, New Jersey. In 1990, Wirkowski returned to Bayway, and over the next ten years held the Technical, Mechanical and Operations Manager positions with Exxon, Tosco and Phillips.

In 2000, Wirkowski became the Project Executive for the construction of the Bayway Polypropylene Plant. He was later named the Executive responsible for the development, operation and optimization of the Polypropylene Business for ConocoPhillips.

In 2005, Wirkowski became the Billings Refinery Manager, and in 2008 moved to Mike Wirkowski serves England and assumed the position of Lead Executive of the U.K. and General Manager as Vice President of Major of the Humber Refinery. In this position, he served as the chairman and senior director Projects for Phillips 66. for COP Limited, for the EU Works Council and for UKEPT. In 2012, Wirkowski returned to Houston to head the Refining Business Improvement group before joining the Major Projects organization in 2014.

In 1977, Wirkowski graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Rutgers University.
