April 10-12  This , April 11, the last day of Pesach, at 6:10pm at Keter Torah, Mordechai Feurstein will give a shiur commemorating the 22nd yartzeit of HaRav Joseph B. Soloveitchik, zt"l, on "Torah & Midot." Rav Feurstein, longtime student of Rav Soloveitchik, is the former Rabbi of The of the Suburban Torah Center in Livingston, and of Congregation Schara Tzedeck, in Vancouver. Rav Feurstein and his family were close friends of Rav Soloveitchik and his family.  KEYLIM MIKVAH AWARENESS MONTH! Every family in Teaneck, Bergenfield and New Milford benefits from the keylim mikvah all year round, but especially during the busy month before Pesach. Please help us recognize its importance by financially supporting the mikvah during KEYLIM MIKVAH AWARENESS MONTH. Funds collected will be used exclusively for the daily operational expenses of the mikvah including insurance costs, supplies, and equipment. This year let's make Sefiras HaOmer count!  The Jewish Community Council of Greater Teaneck will hold its annual observance of Yom Hashoa on Thursday, April 16th at 7:30pm at Teaneck High School. The keynote speakers this year are Nancy and Howard Kleinberg who survived the horrors of Bergen Belsen and were later reunited and wed in Toronto, Canada. Their story of their survival and reunion is nothing short of a miracle. The musical presentation will be performed by Jonathan Rimberg on the piano and vocals and Stephanie Kurtzman performing on violin.  A pre-event reception for survivors and their families will take place in the school’s Media room, beginning at 6:00pm. Light refreshments will be served and Hebrew and Yiddish music will be provided by Yitzy Glicksman. The event is free to the public and handicap accommodations are available. April 18 and beyond  The Belz School of Jewish Music at Yeshiva University is pleased to announce the Bayrish Schreiber Memorial Seminar in the musical nusach of Shacharit for Shabbat. This tuition-free four week seminar conducted by members of the Belz faculty will take place at Cong. Bnai Yeshurun on Thursday Evenings, Happenings around Town April 11, 2015 8 - 9:30 PM, from April 30th through May 21st, chaired by A.J. Schreiber. All Baalei Tefilla and aspiring Baalei Tefillah are invited to attend these sessions, which will grant a Certificate of Completion to all those who finish the series. Learn the beautiful, accurate nusach of the Belz School, and discover facts that you never knew about Tefillat Schacharit. This seminar is free and open to all residents of Bergen County.  There will be a community-wide event for Yom Haatzmaut on Wednesday evening, April 22. The event will be held at Keter Torah (600 Roemer Ave, Teaneck, NJ), starting with Mincha at 7:25pm. Mincha will be followed by a presentation for Yom Hazikaron, in memory of those who have fallen defending the State of , followed by Maariv Chagigit, and a chagiga in the shul’s ballroom.
